Interesting that Gamble is named but Lolohea is not..

You would expect both to play should Benji be fit for FG..they still well may..

Smash the fake Pies..boys

Same as last week. Our lineup is of course much stronger, depends on the attitude of the boys though.

JJ is doing fine happy. A victim of our depth but hopefully he sticks it out.

I find the squad just too prop heavy though. 5 props in the 17, but when you've got the quality and experience of Grant, Sue and Felise having Ratu and Epere, who both seem very solid props at this level, means that our boys aren't getting the game time they deserve.

There are 3 80 minute back rowers though to be fair. But we could use more impact in the rotations.

I never thought of that when we re-introduced Wests to ISP. So it is legitimately the Wests Magpies vs the Wenty Magpies? Wow get a new mascot someone.

Following up happy and BB's discussion, if JJ is on the bench due to depth, that must have something to do with his pecking order for FG? I.e. people were saying early season he should be next to get a run in firsts, esp with his decent form and young age, but surely he'd be playing a starting role in ISP if that were the plan? Having TG and Sue there instead says we'd need to see a lot of injuries for JJ to be promoted?

I thought the big defensive spells in hot weather really took it out of us last weekend.

There are some really awesome players in this side.

I wouldn't be surprised if a few are snapped up and promoted to other NRL rosters before the season is done.

Maybe Ivan and Hodgo are doing similar to what Wyong are doing with Baptiste..he would be a starting hooker in that team but they have him coming off the bench as that's the role he would play in FG..

They may want to see high quality impact minutes from Felise off the bench as that is the role he would play in 1st grade…he certainly has been among the better forwards when on the Field for Wests...

You have a point there. What do you think is most likely however? I would expect the intensity of the opening of ISP is still well short of coming into an NRL game off the bench.

Hard to say. Sue, Grant and Felise would all likely be coming off the bench if they do get a run in first grade. I think it's just seniority, on form over 3 weeks Felise has been the best prop.
As i've said previously i'd have either Grant or Sue on the bench instead as they're both far more expendable to our long term future imo. Felise can have an mipact as a starter or off the bench, Grant is just a steady old head on good money (maybe that comes into it too), Sue is a hot and cold impact prop (i think we can do a lot better than him).

Ivan sees them in training and whether he's thinking whats best for the NRL team now or in the future, i'll back him to make the right call
