Israel Folau future after GWS

Israel Folau is looking beyond GWS. He is a Minto Cobras junior… Should he make a return to NRL with WT... I think they should pursue him.

Where would he play unless we drop Lawrence or ayshford for some reason

I heard this this morning also…...was thinking the same thing, but he wouldnt be cheap.
He was a winger Westy81 Would get our sets off to a good start

We don't have the attacking kicking game to make use of him, or at least haven't shown we do (though that could be due to who we have for wingers). We use grubbers in behind the defense, where as you need a good accurate cross field kicking game to make use of Folau.

Good cross field kicking game + Folau = lots of tries.

i would rather we use this money on a couple of props or a halfback. something people have wanted for a long time.

Would be a bit of failure on AFL's part if he comes back to league, a waste of the money they forked out for him.

I don't think he'd have any trouble taking Ayshfords spot. He's represented Australia and you couldn't find a spot for him? :crazy

Anyway it doesn't matter, he won't be coming here

The way Blake's going at the moment I'd swap him in a heart beat.

A friend saw him out before the Swans/ GWS game. he is playing reserves at the moment.

I think that might have more to do with his development rather then his actual form

Interesting. I just assumed it was cos he was struggling. But then I don't watch a lot of AFL so don't know how he has been going.

He is coming back from injury and they are just easing him back into the main team.

Oh man this is probably the funniest thing I have ever read!

Hmm let me see a Folau or Ayshford…

These Islanders aren't built for AFL. Folau even admitted it himself. He's built for strength and explosive power. AFL requires endurance and stamina. Wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the NRL. He'll probably go to the Broncos or Roosters. They're the only clubs that can seem to afford anyone and everyone!

Don't think the AFL or GWS see him as a long term asset Dave. He was signed to generate interest in the franchise in a rugby league heartland. If he comes into his own as a decent player then that's just gravy for them.

Yeah true I guess, has he generated enough interest so far to warrant what they've paid him though? too early to tell still?

He could be a potential Lote replacement. Not sure on his pace but he could be a good finisher.
