Israel Folau? (No rumours yet)

Tacky

I seem to remember hearing Folau thinking about returning to NRL last year. I reckon if Teddy leaves we should throw the kitchen sink at Folau. It's a little risky but I think it's worth it.

Folau is the highest paid athlete out of the 4 codes, only reason he would come back is to be closer to his partner and I'm sure the Warriors would be his first choice.

Let's hope Teddy stays otherwise I'll hate the Roosters even more

James O'Connor has ruined his top-line career in Union but would be a fantastic centre here.

And he can kick goals

I'm a friend of a friend to Izzy. He wants out. He's Had enough of the ARU being down the bottom of the pecking order in Australian sport

Well tell your friend to tell his friend that he's missed his moment.

James O'Conner had a get out clause in his contract if the Brisbane bombers ever became a reality. so he obviously thinks a code switch isn't out of the question.

I think he would do really well too. A change of scenery would do him well.

We would be wanting a hell of a lot more than a "risky" signing for the $1 million plus that we would have to spend. No thanks to Izzy.

The headlines have been dominated by the contract movement of the "Big" Four and Jarryd Hayne, but there's another top-notch player who might be a huge pick-up for an NRL club.

There's been talk that Israel Folau could make the move back to rugby league - and the Grill Team's Matty Johns thinks that everyone should be jumping at the chance to sign him up.

"If I was Todd Greenberg, I would be encouraging my clubs to go after Israel Folau" Matty said.

"At the end of the day, rugby union is struggling and for mine, Israel doesn't look entirely happy.

"And if he comes back to the code, he's a superstar.
\
\
"He's carrying a few injuries at the moment, but if he gets his body right, he would make a massive impact.

"There's a lot of money going around footy - so why wouldn't you."

TRIPLE M NRL MATTY JOHNS ISRAEL FOLAU

Thought I'd just put this here

1.2 mil for teddy? Mate I'd offer that for Izzy and you'd get a lot of help from the NRL and Sponsors to bring him over, $ wise you'd earn back instantly and even more through marketing.

Not saying it'll happen, i believe it won't. But put $ in front of him and you'll never know.

The Roosters still have plenty of space in their cap, so I think that they would get Izzy.

Lol, in all seriousness. We'd be in best position to sign him, we have more than enough $, we are a Sydney club which makes it easier for him not needing to move away etc and he'll be offered a FB spot, you wouldn't play him centre with the skill he possess.

Dream about it dude.

anyone who even remotely thinks this is a possibility has no understanding of the Rugby Union World & the standing I.Folau has in it now & in the years beyond his playing days .

looks like Folau is coming to the tigers.

Tigers Looking To Land Israel Folau

Triple M NRL Supergrass

Just Now
Tigers Looking To Land Israel Folau
The Tigers have been quite busy with their recruitment since Ivan Cleary took the reigns, and Triple M NRL's Supergrass has some massive news about a potential signing.

"Israel Folau is wanting to come back to the NRL," Supergrass told Triple M Sunday NRL. Listen to the full report below.

"Izzy is not happy with how his rugby has unfolded over the last 18 months.

"I’m hearing the Wests Tigers are starting to compile an offer, and Ivan Cleary is going to make plans for his NRL return."

Folau is 28 years old and played with the Storm (2007 - 2008) and the Broncos (2009 - 2010) before a stint in the AFL.

He then moved on to union.

\
"We could have him back in the game - he’d be a good replacement for Tedesco," Triple M's Ryan Girdler said.

"They could afford him too," Triple M's Gorden Tallis said.
