It is time Liam

Concussion is a very serious issue and to be honest it is time Liam Fulton realises this and probable time to either go to the ESL or retire. This is obviously becoming a cronic issue for him and that is not taking into account not giving the team a fair shake ….a bit of sole searching is required as I expect a considerable amount of time on the side line for him .Maybe it is not to late to make a decision before June 30\. Your health into your latter years is paramount at this stage and I go as far as to say the club should be making this call..

I don't think going over and playing super league will be good for him to be honest. Just as easy to get concussed there as well. Time to think of his family and give it away altogether I think.

How would going to ESL help him?…sounds like you are looking for an excuse for the club to offload him....thus your post....

I agree it is a massive concern for Liam that he is continually suffering from concussion in games this year...Liam, the club and his doctors should really sit gown and have a long hard look at this and make the right call for Liam...maybe he needs to give the game away, maybe he needs 6 months off..I dont profess to know the right answer but I hope there is concern in the club to have a long hard discussion with the right people.....it is clear his body is telling him something....I just hope the right call is made....and if it is 100% okay he continue playing I want him in the NRL and plying for us....not the ESL..

In the ESL they might be able to run him a few games a year without the same cap pressure to keep utilising their first graders, but realistically I think Liam Fulton's days playing contact sports are over.

Actually I was coming from the fact that the need for an income in a relatively easy competition could extend his earning capacity but really he should retire .

over reaction as a result of recent years media hype imo..

for years players have been concussed and come back and played in the same game, if not stayed on at the time.

its a tough game, this stuff happens.

not when it happens in 90% of the game that he has played this season.

could possibly even wear a headgear.

the game is tough but you only have one brain.. they have to live almost half a century with the same head. you gotta take care of it.

from the SMH:

1\. Tigers fuming
Wests Tigers chief executive Grant Mayer has taken the extraordinary step of phoning the NRL’s head of football, Todd Greenberg, after a game to complain about a rival player, Newcastle prop David Fa’alogo. Mayer believes Fa’alogo attacked the head of Tigers second-rower Liam Fulton, who has a history of concussion.
‘‘It’s this guy’s fourth concussion this year and obviously it’s a concern for the club,’’ Mayer said on Sunday. ‘‘We’ve looked at the tape and we believe there is something for the NRL to look at. We’ve said all year we take this sort of thing very seriously. We’d like to think the NRL will have a look tomorrow and the appropriate action is taken.’

It'll be interesting to hear the response from Greenberg into this matter . Fa'alogo has always been a dirty player IMO . Wasn't he the one who smashed anasta when he played for souths ?
And didn't he put one on Jason Taylor on mad Monday ?

Yes, he punched out Taylor, earning himself an immediate release from Souths and a ticket to England for the next four years.

i've been worried about this with liam for a while. it not just this year either, been happening a bit too often in recent years.

hope he thinks of himself and family going forward not just about the team.

Give it away Liam. Come back if you feel like playing next year and you are fit enough.
Your health is more important than anything else in the world.

I think it's just bad luck that he gets concussed, but crap that it's him 4 times

Why hasn't he been wearing headgear?

Because apparently headgear is almost useless.
As some other people have shown, the studies on the NFL players show the damage that is done with contact sports like ours, and even though they wear proper helmets, the NRL might be tougher still.

Today on the foxsports website they are reporting that…..

"THE Wests Tigers have made the hardline call to rule concussion victim Liam Fulton out for the rest of the season.
You won’t catch anyone at the Tigers officially confirming as much but we’ve been told after four concussions in seven weeks, the decision has been made in the best interests of Fulton’s welfare. Fulton was in Melbourne earlier this week for brain scans."
