Shows how ancient gus is. 1 million a season isn't outlandish these days and Tedesco is worth that. Realistically clubs can afford to pay a superstar player up to 15% of the cap.

My thoughts exactly.

Money!

From Fox Sports Market Watch article. Could be related to Lawrence

**SHHHHH II**

There’s a veteran being pressured by his club to hang up the boots and transition into a role away from the field but the player wants to play on. This could get messy.

Might be Ballin? I imagine he would probably like to get back on the horse and try to go around for another season or two, but everyone knows his legs aren't gonna let him. Both he and Lawrence have enough smarts to be offered an off-field role if they retired now.

Ballin is not contracted for next year, we don't need to get him to retire.

What about this year?

I would rather pay him 800K under the Cap and 500K in TPA's..but that's me…

A lot of these figures that get bandied about in the Media are managers pumping their clients up...

Yep - I find myself in agreeance with Gus. Teddy is a great player but he cant win games alone and 1mill of our cap is too much on one player - and it wouldnt matter who it was.
TPA top up to thats figure fine - thats how the Roosters do it.

My info is that Tedesco and woods have been tabled their final offers from the club. Now it's just up to them if they want to sign. Tigers haven't budged on the extra 2 years for Tedesco is my understanding. It's a 4 year deal. Take that for what it's worth.

Do they come with a deadline attached ?

Gun, gimme a score out of 10 being the likelihood of Teddy re-signing.

So what do we make of Hooper reporting Woods and Tedesco following Moses out the door?

Not commenting on Hooper himself and the chance of it coming true, but i would say Cleary and Isaac Moses are not going to see eye to eye. Isaac Moses has been bullying Wests Tigers for more than 12 months, now a new sherriff has arrived in town and he's definately not going to bullied by that pimp.

So the choice for Woods and Teddy is clear, all the vibes from both of them to me seem like they are finished in this place and i believe Isaac will be doing everything he can to convince them of that too.

Hooper is a massive liar that takes every opportunity to bag out the Tigers. I'd take it with a grain of salt.

I thought the Tigers were who he supported? Does that mean the Moses rumour is made up too?

The Moses rumour isn't a rumour. He had quotes from Pascoe regarding it. And if he's a supporter that's a shock to me. Every night he calls them a basket case on NRL Tonight.

So does most of this forum

As much as it hurts GNR we usually are

Geez.. That's dangerous. I like the tough stance, but if we lose Tedesco all hell will break loose.

What else can the club do. They've been trying to wrap these guys up for nearly 6 months. Either commit or put us out of our misery so we can chase other replacements.

Oh yeah, Woods is a pea heart acting like this as Captain.

The Lawrence contract is probably the worst contract this club has signed off on in the last decade. Chris is a great bloke but his playing days in first grade should of been done 18 months ago for WT

Genuinely not seeing what everyone else is seeing. I was at Leichhardt couple of weeks ago and I thought Rowdy was one of our best. Ran HARD and put in more than most.

Yeah I agree, don't get me wrong. These are the straight shooting decisions the club needs to make now and in the future. It's in not doing this that has led to a lot of trouble for the club in the past. I just hope we can hang onto him, the deal does seem fair tbh if what's reported is true.

Woods, he can do whatever he wants, I don't care now.

He was like the best reserve grader on the day that is the problem.I have always liked him but he is not first grade standard

In response to sco77y and gnr4life

The club I believe has offered Tedesco the max deal they can afford that's not going to be to the detriment of the club. Woods asking price is high for a prop. Infact if he signs he might be the highest paid prop in the comp. is he worth it? Or can the club find the same out put from matulino/vete for example. To me as now an outsider woods has shown zero leadership as a captain. He doesn't speak with passion about the club like a James graham does for example. They have their offers. The club can do no more. I believe both will stay. If not atleast the club did everything they could do keep them and that's all u can ask for

Fair enough!

Listening to what Lawrence said during his interview on the news, this whole pantomine being played out at the expense of the club may now be a distraction. Nothing worse than losing the support of your team mates especially when the contracts offered are far in excess of what your team mates are being paid.
