Great thread!
Does anyone have a list of how many players each team have used this season?

Yeah saw 1 somewhere we had used either 30 or 31 with 3 debutantes I will try and dig it up Kaiser

It sure is hard to believe, but it is a very good feeling right now  I know that I certainly didn't believe it was possible for much of this year. This is why I would like to thank, firstly, the team, but also, posters such as Underdog, Tigersrule4life, GNR and Tiger4ever (to name just a few, there's probably more) who have been positive about our chances, week in and week out, and kept a strong faith in the team, even when things were at their worst. I hope your faith will be rewarded with a Premiership come October.

aww shucks dude!

 :sunglasses: Right back at ya, Broseph… :sign:

Feeling the love around here lads (and lasses) and Flippedy, appreciate the positivity you bring to the forums.

This place is my second home at work, and there is always something to read, opinions to be had, and ideas to be shared.

My only sadness is that in approx 6-7 weeks no matter where we (the tigers) end up about 75% of the community will drop away, but still, good conversations are there to be had, and speculation about 2012 and the new makeup of the team should be enough to tide us all over until February and the trials...

I'll admit i thought we were gone after the Parramatta debacle. We were out of form, Internal rumblings and a massive injury toll. To turn that around to win 7 straight and be only 1 win away from a top 4 finish is quite an extraordinary effort. Everyone associated with this great club ought to be very proud of themselves.

Regardless of the results over the next 5 weeks I am super excited about where we're heading. With a terrific bunch of kids coming through mixed with some terrific senior players and the best player in the world, the skies the limit for us.

okay, blowing my own trumpet a little here, but i maintained that if they could just manage to get thereabouts come this time of year we would have lote and lawrence back and given the run in they could give it a real shake.

fact is that both guys (not to mention the loss of dwyer) were out for extended periods but we have still ground out the wins and are now in a better position than i could have (honestly!) imagined. in the roller coaster that is being a tigers fan, we are on a high. lets hope the peak is still a few metres up!!

GO TIGERS!!!!!!

Just to compare things to 2005:

2005: We were 12th in Round 15, won 8 from our last 10 (also had a bye), and moved all the way to 4th with a chance to get as high as 2nd (lost 2 games at the very end)

2011: We were 8th in Round 15, won 7 from our last 9 (also had a bye) and moved up to 4th, with a win needed in the final round to gain a home final

Even if we win 8 in a row and 8 from our last 10 games this season, we've only moved up 4 positions. Much tougher competition this year.

I had belief most of the season. The only time I wavered was after the Parramatta game when it appeared the off field distractons were going to kill us off. However even during some of those bad losses and ugly wins I still thought the group was united and committed. Last year they built a bond, and became tougher, I didn't think they were going to throw it away and become mediocre 9th to 11th place style team again.

We have had so many issues and injuries this season. I don't if any other club in the league could have used 31 players and made the Top 4\. That is an effort to be proud of. It might not end in Grand Final glory however it has never been all about that for me, just being a consistent winning footy side gives me the most pleasure. Balmain, Wests, Wests Tigers have been looking for that for over 2 decades and now it appears to be falling into place. 2 years in a row in the finals is a good start and the next few years we need to cement that mentality and raised ambition.

Little things like finishing above the likes of Canterbury and Parramatta two years in a row give me pleasure.

In Monday's press conf, Sheensie said we've used 30.

Tim Sheens= Coach of the year!.
Benji Marshall = Dally M Winner and 5/8th of the year!

i aggree with Benji

but i think Bellemy will get the coach of the year… to come back from last years problems and loose a few players and still be on top.. he is a far winner

Even halfway through this run of wins I still thought we would be looking at getting 7th or 8th. To think (and hope) they could run 4th is hard to contemplate after the year that has been, but brings a smile to the face and increased heartbeat for a moment or two. Not only would it mean a home semi but the Tigers would be playing for 9 wins in a row! Still a nervous Saturday night awaits us.

i worry that we are at our peak right now, but yo need to find another gear to win finals. there are a few teams in the top 8 that have something to prove to themselves and the rest of the comp that is going to serve as motivation for them.

Melbourne - the drama from last year and now this saga with blair getting boomed for 5 weeks
Manly - Brawl saga, Brett Stewart saga and their usual us vs them mentality
Broncos - Lockyers farewell
Dragons - wanting to go back to back, bennett departing and the barrage of abuse they copped in the media during their slump

Cant really see anyone other than these or us winning the comp

Out of these, i fear the dragons the most. They have been well below their best but have still been in games at the death, they have the most improvement left in them.

My god it woould be devastating to lose to them again in the finals

agree 100% with this thread. being a fan, i always had belief that we CAN win this comp even after the parra game, but back of my mind, thoughts like "season's over" did emerge.

always good to look back and see what you've overcame.
the only thing which can make the premiership title even more sweeter is knocking saints out of it. nothing personal, strictly business.

Very tough year for the boys…hardly ever had our top side on the field this year at the same time. Add to that the turmoil over player movements, poor onfield performances, at times poor attitudes and somehow the side has toughed it out and is now coming home with a wet sail.

Many congratulations must be extended to the club and especially those players who have stood up and got us through the horrid mid season slump and kept us treading water until troops came back on deck and others started hitting form.

Benji especially. He has carried us this year. I'm also talking about the Shirnacks, Miller etc...who have stepped in, played their guts out and get little recognition now for it. Using 30 odd players to make the finals is ridiculous...yet somehow they have done it.

They wont be forgotten on October 2nd.
