So Darcy Byrne is wanting to do something to address the governance of Wests Tigers. I'm not sure about you but I have been a member of Wests Tigers RLC for many years. I am not a member of Wests RLC nor Balmain RLC but West Tigers. As a member, I get NO say in the running of the club. We have lots of passionate supporters like me who get NO say in the running of the club. Here's another couple of terms you might like to add to your vocabulary:
Naysayer, Cynic
Look them up ...... just saying!
I would like to be a member of a club in which I have say in its future direction and the expenditure of funds allocated to it by ARLC.

Just saying they seem to be able to oversee a dysfunctional wests tigers whether they are in total control or at arms length under an independent arrangement. I don’t think some blended arrangement with HBG overseeing the arrangement will change anything and history suggests HBG will blow it up if it shows any promise.

Given the history of HBG, you're probably right.

I was hoping the new CEO might be able to persuade HBG to form an independant board and at the very least, persuade them to start supporting the football in a more positive way.

This maybe coming from a sense of ignorant hope (because no one really knows what goes on in the minds of these people) but history has shown there have been some good leaders that have been able to foster important change.

Maybe this is the best bet considering the current structure and position of HBG?

I just replied to someone else as to when they would care.

If we start hurting the bottom line, PVL would flick us like dead lice.

Putting my tinfoil hat on, we have 19 teams confirmed for 2028. There will definitely be a 20th team. There is a huge push for another Queensland team. A second New Zealand team is also a strong option, but there is no chance of the competition going to more than 20 teams.

How can we fit both of those expansion clubs in? Simple, let the weakest existing Sydney club die. If we consider this hypothetical perspective, then PVL has very little reason to work hard for us.

If shaun is working on it, it won't be overnight. You forget the mental state of these guys. They kicked out one of the best administrators in the game, if not the best. Seemingly just for power.

Not just that, but never even respected fans enough to give a reason. One that was truthful and defensible enough not to get retracted.

Just my own opinion - regardless of results I don't think you will see any infighting from HBG, no moving of head coach, CEO, or board members until 2030 - and then who knows.

Souths were in the same position in the 90’s and early 00’s. They were a laughing stock. Then Maximus came along and they have never looked back. If it wasn’t for him, they’d still be a joke. Agree. We are behind the big clubs because of both a lack of attitude (win at any cost) and the resulting resources from having that attitude.

Geez I hope you're right. Every year (roughly 3 weeks before Christmas) they tend to drop a nuclear bomb on the joint.

Wests Tigers’ membership is the lowest of all clubs. 8k-9k. That number doubled under Pascoe’s leadership and the HBG were crowing like early morning roosters.
However, it was later revealed by incoming CEO Richardson that 50% of the members had been given free membership.

I think, from HBG’s recent acquisition of the Central Coast Mariners A-League women’s team and the hiring of Shaun Mielekamp, it looks obvious to me that they will make a play for the Mariners men’s team, who have been struggling financially.

They already own APIA Leichhardt and have proven that their focus is on football, not rugby league.

We need a private owner that's passionate about our club, otherwise this rot will only get worse.
