Bad governance is not worth investing in. I was going to upgrade my membership when HBG blew up the independent board. And I was seriously going to renew 2 of my 4 memberships today ... now I just don't know ... 😔

Yeah, they're burning through members money like there is no tomorrow with all these payouts and court cases. L&G need to get off their assGood, the more chaos the better. At some point the powers above will have no choice but to pull their thumb out and demand HBG gut the debunture system and implement something modern to end the yearly chaos. Liquor and Gaming will have to do somethong eventually.

Wests Tigers have descended into chaos once again with board member and Holman Barnes chief executive Daniel Paton stood aside pending an investigation.
While it is unclear the exact reasons why Paton has stood aside from both his roles, it is understood it relates to some sort of complaint. Attempts to contact Paton on Thursday night were unsuccessful.
Paton was blindsided at an emergency board meeting on Wednesday where he was told he would be stood down pending an investigation. Staff were informed on Thursday that he was on leave.
“Holman Barnes Group advises that chief executive officer Daniel Paton is currently on a period of leave,” a statement read.
“The board has appointed Michelle Nielsen, the group’s chief commercial officer, as interim chief executive officer.”
Nielsen is also on the Tigers board.
It is the latest in a long list of calamities for the Tigers at board level.
Last year, Holman Barnes sacked four independent directors including current chairman Barry O’Farrell, who was one of two removed board members to return to their posting. This follows the high-profile removal of Lee Hagipantelis as a board member two years earlier.
Paton was parachuted onto the board at the end of 2025.
He has been at the helm of Holman Barnes since August last year having spent almost a decade as their chief financial officer.
Paton is also on the board of the Central Coast Mariners.
Holman Barnes has been caught up in its own political infighting with multiple members taking legal action against the club.
Denise Andreacchio – the wife of banished former chairman Tony – launched legal action in the Supreme Court last month, seeking to blow up the debenture system and hand control back to members of the Holman Barnes Group.
Tony also launched legal action in a separate claim to have his membership reinstated after being banned for six years.
Tony, David Gilbert and Rick Wayde were sensationally banned from serving on the Holman Barnes Group board on New Year’s Eve, 2024. Tony was expelled for six years.
Months later, former Holman Barnes chair Julie Romero was suspended for eight years.
Wayde settled out of court after taking his own legal action.
The latest drama is an unwelcomed distraction for Wests Tigers chief executive Shaun Mielekamp who has done well to help build the club without the interference of the Holman Barnes Group.
Unfortunately being a moron isn't illegalJust the usual annual bloodletting by the perpetual moron's that are destroying our club. How could anybody believe these morons are fit to run a club.
Theres nothing stopping them from sacking shaun next. They used Daniel to sack the board. 12 months later they push Daniel out. If you cant see how toxic it is then you are no doubt hbg yourself. The club needs your outstanding support @Suzie-Q
In @ShaunMielekamp we finally have a genuine good hearted CEO that is doing absolutely everything within his power to pull the club together and keep everyone happy under very difficult circumstances.
Shaun is an outstanding person, has my total support and I’ll be committed as long as he is our CEO.
My understanding was that Paton was a decent man trying hard to make things improve, so I am concerned he has now been removed.Theres nothing stopping them from sacking shaun next. The article mentioned SM was blind sided and so far been working with no HBG micro managementMy understanding was that Paton was a decent man trying hard to make things improve, so I am concerned he has now been removed.
However I also believe Shaun is a brilliant communicator who has the ability to make things work and be amicable.
If Shaun is sacked anytime soon, we would then be doomed and it would require a mass revolt from every Wests Tigers supporter.
We don’t know if anything changes regarding SM working with no HBG micro management or not.The article mentioned SM was blind sided and so far been working with no HBG micro management
Says Paton was blindsided...not MielekampThe article mentioned SM was blind sided and so far been working with no HBG micro management
