Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

Tigers fans are passionate which is why we turn up to games more than any other Sydney teams with our poor records. The issue here is not Cleary. He’s not Craig Bellamy. It’s the disrespect of our club with the non response and being effectively caught out negotiating behind closed doors with Penrith. Griffin said he was sacked because they were getting Cleary. He’s a straight shooter and has no agenda against us. It’s naieve to think he will sign an extension and treating fans in this fashion is disgraceful. Talking about coaching your son all year clearly shows this was pre planned as were Gould’s comments to Politis that he had a plan to retain Cleary. The plan is being played out precisey. Our management were played for fools and effectively lied to as were players he signed from other clubs. Players will get on with it it’s the fans that suffer and they are the ones paying the hard earned to watch the muppet show at the Clearys.

Well said mate

Simply if Ivan does not agree to extend his current deal with the club he WILL NOT be the head coach for 2019\. Everything should be finalized one way or the other prior to pre-season, but this is affecting recruitment big time & has already cost us one signing.

How I hope this plays out:
1) NC signed a 4 year mega contract to stay with Penrith has his Ivan clause agreed to; he gets to play with his mates for another couple of years…

2) we sign IC till 2023

3) we extend Brooks till 2023
4) after Reynolds contact ends (2021 or earlier)..NC exercises his IC get out clause and joins the Tigers.....

That would be the best “up yours Gus”ever!!

Would be a good result all round. Bring it on!!!

Having a bit of a think about Cleary being offered a contract extension to flush him out.

One of the main reasons for them doing that may be to force Ivan's hands is if they expect he has a handshake deal with Penrith for 2021\. Perhaps they have worked out he was just going to go through the motions for the next 2 seasons and "honour his contract"

More and more im happy to know the club is no longer run by amateurs.

Pascoe doing a good job of it for mine.

X 2

Flush him out with a contract extension, sign Madge and then negotiate a release. Don’t budge until the price hurts Penrith. Cash and players otherwise Hodgsons assistant at the Magpies,

Good on you mate, you speak your mind, by now you will have been red flagged, good luck.

His good at business side but we need some more football smarts around him. So we stop getting done by dogs like gould and flanagan

Yep I agree. Stay solid on this.
It’s a poker game mate and I think we have a better hand. Gould is bluffing but it’s all smoke and mirrors. Just increase the stakes and enjoy the cooking show.

X2 plus he dislikes Gus.

My only concern with all this rubbish is that if we don't act on this urgently we will lose Ivan and not be able to get a good replacement coach in time.. Good coaches don't stay on the unemployment line long..
Manly also need a coach and would hope we can at least have a crack at McGuire or Toov's .

Everyone is worried about the players etc… but the main people effected are us fans and we have had enough.

**The fact that it is effecting our recruitment is a real issue b**ecause at the end of the day it’s the quality of your roster that wins you matches more than who coaches your team.

Our team will go backwards in 2019 without at least two more quality signings. You would also have to assume if CHN was the player we missed that he had some information that Cleary is on the move and being a close friend of NC that is possible.

I get the feeling this will be sorted very soon….with the smart money being on a new coach

Fact?
Because an anonymous username on a forum says so?

It is Pom, he has a great strike rate, but you continue to beleive there is nothing to the story, I have never beleived there was nothing to it.
Gus is laughing at us, and has done for a while now, **but we are finally doing something about** it, I say about time

There's something to it.
I just go by the facts as we know them…. Media and forum rumours do little for me

What are we doing about it?

So Fairfax media, Fox sports, sky sports radio, the Pom, Laurie Daley, Rothfield, they are all just making things up to have a laugh at the tigers. Get your head out of the sand.

I'd probably prefer Madge to Tooves…

Australia Stock Exchange announcement Telstra shares have doubled, thanks to ongoing concerns about Ivan Cleay’s contract at the Wests Tigers.
Telstra’s profit has increased significantly due to extra data usage by Wests Tigers Forum members.

Great to hear
I have a few thousand shares
I need to make my money back
Now back to the discussion please

No doubt Madge would be the best candidate. Though., I’m intrigued by Adam O’Brian. I think anyone who comes through the Storm system is worth a punt

Note: Yes, I know Maguire also came through the Storm system.

Hasnt O'Brien signed with the Roosters? JTs replacement?

You getting paranoid? Why you changing coaches? But but Cleary is going no where and hasn’t even talked to the panthers. The whole world is making it up.

Yep linking up with the chooks. Would guess if an nrl job was offered to him the chooks wouldn't stand in his way.

If this is all made up I really think Tigers need to come out again and put this to bed and I MEAN Ivan himself..
He is leaving but not sure when.
