This is going to get ugly….

If Cleary is still around, Leichhardt Oval will be very very very ugly. I am keen to give Ivan some well constructed feedback

PS heard you on Talkin Sport tonight. When is your voice going to drop?👍

If this plays out as it seems to be, i’m done….my 8th year as a WT member will be my last...also, the NRL can go get ******....I’ll follow another sport....i’m over the way the game is run....it’s worse than a business...people like Gould, Bellamy and Bennett who are revered by the NRL have totally stuffed this game up the last 10 years....

My first thoughts have been similar to you. For a while I have been disillusioned with the NRL but love my Tigers. In particular I loved the redemption story starting to unfold under Ivan. My first thoughts were that Im done, zero interest in the Tigers or RL after this.

I have been somewhat bolstered by the way Pascoe has handled things so far. I am under no illusions, I cant see a way that Ivan stays but Im hopeful that Pascoe can salvage the best possible outcome out of this fiasco. if the club appoint a good replacement and continue a positive direction, i'm sure Ill get back aboard but its hard right now.

One thing is for sure. I am a member and I will not attend one more game whilst Ivan is coach. I couldnt bear to hear his name read out as coach.

I commend you for your positivity but:

What decent coach will want to coach us?…all the good work of the last 18 months will be undone.....current players will question whether this is the right club to stay.....prospective good players will steer clear of the joint....the only players we will get are those over the hill looking to top up their super package....we shall remain uncompetitive for years as we again try and rebuild....and will we compete with those “cheating” clubs...never......Who suffers the most.....?...the fans....

Gould has tried to paint us in a corner with his earlier comment about not stopping Nathan joining Ivan. The plan was if we don’t let it happen we are the bad guys however that was a gamble on their part and the rugby league public and players will lose respect for Ivan and Penrith as a club.

If Ivan does end up at Penrith and doesn’t win a premiership in the next couple of years everyone ends up in a bad place.

I’m hoping there is more going on and Ivan will stay but I can’t see it happening. He has indicated he’d like to join Nathan at Penrith and the club can say what they like but there is no point having a coach who doesn’t want to be here. Hold out and take a few of there forwards as compensation.

With that >50% record and Maloney getting older…
I can't see Penrith winning a comp in the next few years anyway.
Good roster and depth but just not as good as the top echelon...

South's, Roosters, Melb and you'd expect Broncos to Improve next year as well...

Haha, I got a cold…
My voice is fine ?

Before everyone gets too excited in regards to breech of contract everyone has to remember that he would actually have to breech, ie stop doing his role or do it somewhere else.

I’m sorry to say but we are snookered.

We stand behind the contract- we the fans hate the coach.
We let him go- we the fans realise just how weak our club is.

We can’t stare them down as we don’t have a backup coach, nor can we afford to wait as we have roster spots to fill.

Compensation is our best bet but truly what would be enough? 2m?

Irrespective of what Pascoe says, the wick had been lit.

There is no way I can see IC remaining here until the end of his contract.

He is a fraud and unbelievably selfish. His top priority is not the club he is coaching at or the players busting their arse for him. His number one priority is his son. So much so that he is willing to rubbish his reputation, break a contact, return to an organisation that sacked him and be micro managed by sociopath just to coach his precious son….

Yes this!

Agree with this too. If true, he’s essentially throwing away everything he’s worked towards at the Tigers, just to coach his son. It’s kind of ridiculous when you put it like that.. Tbh I don’t think it’s the best idea to coach your own son/family member at that level, for many reasons. Has the potential to seriously backfire.. If that’s any consolation to us if he actually goes through with it.

i think we say no to a release, so penrith have to get another coach, and as soon as they appoint a new coach we sack ivan, thats the way to fix a traitor. then he misses out on his precious son all round. sorry but really angry, with whats happening just when things start to look a bit better we get knocked down again.

Would love old Harry to pop his head up and take on the Cleary contract. Pay him and honour it but do not release him. Meanwhile sign another coach for next season

The moment Cleary became available Gus would sign him and sack the new coach. Gus doesn’t care.

At least we seem to be playing from a seat of power… there is two sides to the coin, nothing doing, or we leverage Ivans integrity and legal precedent to either run both Penrith and Ivan into the ground, possibly force their hands at the negotiating table in order to save face and truly bend them over.

Either way, big $ buys us a premium coach, or we keep Cleary... prefer to keep him and see his vision out, than start from scratch.

Though if you played hard ball with my old boy... thinking of the Nathan angle. That said if Ivan rolls over make them both unhappy.

I'd sit him out for 2 years, not coaching, nothing. Bring in another coach and say you fully expect the endorsement and assistance of the NRL board in this matter in allowing WT to pay above the existing coaching staff pool limits due to the egregious conduct of another NRL club and their executive members in derailing WT season and established business model for the remaining tenure of the established contract. I'd also threaten legal action both against Penrith and the NRL if they sanction this raid.

Seibold from Souths gives me great hope.

Rookie coach doing great things.

Life will move on. There must be plenty of emerging coaches.

I will try support our club through this, but my love of NRL is rapidly dying
