What was the hold up ?

Ivan looked like he’d just been handed a 2 year good behaviour bond and sentenced to home detention.
The Tigers Board nipped this in the bud pretty quickly, don’t be disillusioned- Ivan had his pencil case packed, the panthers offer was verbal initially (with a pre conceived contract ready for activation, for 2019) with Ivan to approach the Tigers for a release then once granted the invisible ink on the 2019 contract would materialise with a whiff of fresh mountain air.
The delay was waiting for the board to rollover and sanction Ivan’s release but alas…checkmate.
Call me a mug if you like but I think the Tigers Board grew up this week.
My option still remains that Ivan is now poison though.

Then that’s what I would do.
 
Also I have a weird feeling that we will dust Canberra now. Nothing to suggest why… After Cleary's conference and the presses with the players they looked like it wasn't getting to them, think they could be up for it tomorrow.

I think the best one in the past week was Brent Read with Nathan's made up his mind he'll be a Wests Tiger in 2020 if not 2019...nek minnet.. :laughing:

Can't imagine Penrith having a 'caretaker' coach for 2 years. I doubt they would want to be turning over coaches like that. Best thing they can do is try and secure a long term coach starting next year. Leads me to think they won't persue Ivan when he comes off contract.

I also don't think Nathan and Ivan will be teaming up any time soon given the events and backlash of this week.

My prediction:
- Nathan Cleary waits till next year to sort out his future.
- NC signs with the Roosters replacing Cooper Cronk
- Ivan extends contract with the Tigers.

Why not address this issue on Tuesday morning?
 
There are two things that are indisputable from the past week.

1- A reputation has been tarnished rightly or wrongly only time will provide the real truth.

2- The long term signing that the Tigers need to secure first is Justin Pascoe.

I watched and i remain unconvinced, Ivan could not have squirmed anymore his body language was like ive not seen from IC.

If i was the board i would be getting Brooks in to extend his contract pronto.
