This interview with Cleary and Paul Kent is a crock of crap
Last night we have Kent tell us no subject is off limits and then tonight on the podcast he says "well their were personal things that Iv brought up I didn't touch "
Seriously Kent you knob .....do you think we are all tools ....
NRL 360 is the TV Week of rugby league journalism.
The Channel 9 show is just as bad
Proof of what FTA and Fox thinks of it's footy fans
Actually the NRL in general ....assume we all have IQ's in low double digits who don't give a poo about the game and its true roots
Well the thing is, happy, that I had a revelation earlier this year when perusing FTA TV, which I basically never watch apart from rugby league. There was just so much crap on all the channels, Fox included.
Fox and FTA need to sell ads and/or subscriptions, thus they need maximum viewership for minimal overhead. IF Fox and FTA are putting crap on every night that appears to cater for low-IQ morons, it is very likely that market forces and/or predictive research are telling these companies that such content does sell, or at least is the most cost-effective.
Fox and FTA don't intentionally put out content that nobody will watch. Similarly the NRL wouldn't be on TV at all if nobody was interested in selling ads.
Therefore, unfortunately, the only logical assumption you can make is that the majority of viewers *are* actually low-IQ morons who watch stuff like Married At First Sight.
You only have to do the mildest amount of research to see the steaming piles of entertainment crap that many people happily consume - Kardashians, Bachelor, TV Week, Women's Day, at least 50% of everything on youtube, Jerry Springer-type shows, A Current Affair, Cheaters, Dating Naked, Dancing W Stars, Australian Idol, Beauty and Geek, Temptation Island, Farmer Wants Wife etc. etc. etc.
I would also submit that in light of the wide variety of on-demand products available to modern users, it would be far less likely that people are watching NRL 360 just because there is nothing else on, which was part of the excuse in decades past.
