Johnson staying on is dependant on Suali
No chance of getting JAC according to Paul Crawley.

Well we can lock in JAC going to souths now :money_mouth_face:

Not sure of its accuracy, but rumours are also circulating that Storm and Cowboys have put in offers to Johnston. Wasn't fond of it earlier in the year but found myself gravitating toward us putting a offer in for him - he's been great for them this year.

Hate that we always seem to be fighting for crumbs. That most of our targets are essentially based upon how the dominos fall for other clubs.

I can see it all unfolding now - Storm want a decent player swap before letting JAC go a year early on his contract, AJ to the rescue! Ethan Lowe will be medically retired at Souths to free up the extra cash they need, after they’ve offloaded AJ, to sign JAC on the coin he wants. JAC may even be willing to take a bit less if he can play with his ‘brothers’ and under Unca.

A simple and a highly likely scenario, imo. In fact, I’d bet my house on it happening. We’ve seen it all before, the strong just get stronger while the weak, as you say always seem to end up fighting for the crumbs. It’s such a fair comp this NRL, can’t wait tho watch the same teams fight it out year after year over the next decade - it will be so enthralling!

I think it's more like the smart clubs get stronger.

Would storm take brooks?

They offered him a contract oreviously. So yeah.

I think they'd be happy with Hughes these days over Brooks. seems to be another manufactured halfback out of that system like Cronk. if Bellyache got his hands on Brooks in 2016 then he'd probably be the premier halfback in the game. unfortunately multiple coaching changes and his personality traits have let him down.

as a fan of his and as a local junior of the club I truly hope he can turn it around and Madge can get a halves consultant in to help him, but I'm beginning to worry that he's hit his ceiling.

I get the hypothetical. I actually disagree and think Brooks would go well at a team with a good spine and solid forward pack. Although Melbourne suits that list. Tend to think he would go better at a club where he can build with them.

I dunno what's happened to him this year. Looks lost

There is a lot to JAC that I like:
Winger that scores tries.
good technical training. Not a strong guy but clearly knows how to think when outmuscled and outnumbered.

Yet
His best asset is his legs. Only Blake Fergusson and the Morris's seems to have gotten faster in their 30's. I just don't know what 26-29 will bring to this person.

Post game interview with JAC on Fox said he loves the Storm and will be sorry to leave said he went to Melbourne for family reasons (cash)???and he needed to get back to Sydney for family said his grandfather had recently passed away and it had been tough.

If Brooks has been causing a scene in training and is in the 850k we reportedly upgraded him on after he won dally m halfback then I think Madge would definitely be happy to trade Brooks. He's not a 850k halfback and I think Madge would believe he could find better value elsewhere.

I thought Cleary switched him on. He played exceptionally well in 2018. He seems to have drifted back to mediocrity in the past two years

Can you imagine what Bellamy could do for Brooks. He certainly has talent. Even Cronk says he (Cronk) wasn't anything to write home about when he started out. Maybe a trade for JAC or Harry?

We need Josh Addo-Carr so badly.

If your club needs a winger badly, then it has serious issues in other areas that need addressing even more badly. He isn’t a game changing signing.
