No it doesnt, it speaks to how much interest I have in the administrators in those teams.
***Why should we get hung up on what other teams are doing anyway?*** I'm more interested in WT direction. I actually knew 2. Furner and Solly (only because of the noise of Richo leaving.)

Because they are successful.

IT is not the role of a CEO to win the support of the fans. He has to communicate within the organisation. None of the CEO's above talk outside of the organisation. When you start hearing from the CEO, the organisation is in trouble.

See what others are doing then copy them? Me too kinda behaviour?

Exactly. Like win football games, make the 8, make the 4, win a comp. THat kind of behaviour.

Sorry can’t agree.
Not talking about winning the support of fans, talking about winning the admiration of the country.

Yeah, its a football team. I'd settle for winning football games.

My problem is when I try thinking outside the box I have trouble finding the box, but thanks for showing me. ?.

Were you a Wests or Balmain guy pre merge?

Do you remember.....Alan Jones?

Be careful what you wish for.

What’s yer point?

Made it pretty clearly. We dont need Alan Jones or Winston Churchill as our CEO. I dont see any need for our CEO to "win the country". Its a football team.

It’s a football team without leadership.
The kind of leadership shown by the Richmond Tigers CEO, who has the admiration of everyone in the country except you.
Ok I’ll find a box .

Why do you keep making this about you? Why do you keep saying whether you are in a box or not? What does any of this discussion have to do with you? Do you just like telling us over and over that you think outside the box?

So you would like leadership like the Richmond Tigers CEO?
"See what others are doing then copy them? Me too kinda behaviour?"

That makes sense to me, he and they have been successful. Why would that be different to emulating the leadership of The Storms, Roosters, Souffs, Canberra as I suggested earlier and you had a go at me for "me too kinda behaviour"?

If we emulate Richmond Tigers leadership that is brave and "thinking outside the box" (bit like yourself, so special).

If we emulate the leadership of the two most successful Rugbeh Leeg clubs this decade that is "me too kinda behaviour".

Gotcha......special one.

Not another bloody Spurs supporter ..bloody Mourinho ..loser

When you’ve got nothing..attack the messenger. ?
At least we have some on field leadership on the way. I think Jimmy will be our new captain. I’d say that’s why we had to get rid of Benji.

I was having a shot at Hobbo mate ......I'm happy with Jummy's signing as well

Sattler 2.0

What Tamou's dad is a legend and he pulled off arguably the best game winning tackle in a GF i've seen

Indeed he did but he also came to west’s Tigers to top up his pension like Easter island head will be doing

I agree - there needs to be an investigation as to why the Bulldogs let Thurston go... too small as I remember.... why did Souths let Ron Coote go.... what a disaster....

Ken Irvine leaving North Sydney to go to Manly must of hurt.

Losing half the Wests side to all the hyenas in the late 70's early 80s was bad enough

Appears to be a few positive pollyannas on here. And that’s ok, but at least come up with some honest disclosure for your attitude.
We hear nothing from the club, I suppose because they have nothing. How about those pollyannas stop ***trying to ridicule fans who are simply hanging out for some good news,*** asking to be swayed by some tiny indication that the club has decided to develop as a professional organisation.

Im not a positive pollyanna, Im as disappointed as anyone else with our lack of success, but it doesnt get in the way of the truth for me.

As you said, we have heard NOTHING from the club at all in regards to JAC negotiations. After the Latrell experience, I would think everyone would welcome that.

But in the absence of news from the club, the ***negative nellies*** here simply make stuff up and that is not helpful in a discussion. I have read here that management has "fumbled" the JAC discussion (despite the fact we ahve heard nothing and know nothing), we are a laughing stock (despite the fact that Souffs and Bulldogs are in the same boat as us and many more imagined woes that have no basis in truth.

Myself and many others here have pointed out that significantly increased revenue, stabilised board structure, elimination of debt, increases year on year for membership, massive increases in sponsorship, appointing sponsor as chairman, Appointing twin premiership winning coach, cutting deadwood from coaching staff, establishment of the COE, signing Aus Schoolboys half and hooker, getting the Grant loan over the line, picking players on form and dropping high profile players regardless of profile and paypacket. signing of Tamou, LL, Blore, Stef, Douiehi.......are ALL very positive indications of the direction we are going, but you would be excused for not hearing it over the WHAAAAAAA WHAAAAAA WHAAAAAA

Interesting that you should go on the defensive at the mention of "positive pollyanna" ? You assumed that my post was directed toward you?
**"it doesn't get in the way of truth for me"**
A PP lives in no other reality but his dream world.

Another example of a PP.. makes up things to fit the dream world view.

Please show me where I stated as you say..
**"As you said, we have heard NOTHING from the club at all in regards to JAC negotiations."**
In fact I would never say such a thing because I believe that all NRL contracts are written "commercial in confidence."
Which is why I don't believe any of the claims made by those who are in the so called know.

Here's what I actually stated.. **"We hear nothing from the club, I suppose because they have nothing."**

Now I'm not asking for Justin Pascoe to have the courage of Don Quixote nor even have the same level of conviction or penchant for bold and ambitious goals as Benny Gale, but for gods sake.. give us something?
A true leader will have a vision..
**what is our vision?**
A true leader will inspire others to share that vision.. and not limit that sharing to an inner circle.
**where are we going?**
A true leader will know the direction..
**how are we going to get there?**
A true leader will negotiate anything..
I could go on, but I would be more than happy with that.
Put it out there Justin and go for it mate!
If you fall over get up and keep going, you'll have the fans on your side. JUST DO IT!!!

Great words about leadership.

It's become a throw away line for us over the years. Apparently we have a goal to win the GF every year.
No mention of our road map?
No mention of our measure of success?
Little wonder not a single person gets excited when they hear that goal each year. But even that goal (if you could call it a goal) leaks out under intensive interrogation.
***A CEO should be more than just a sports administrator. He / she should be a leader.***

Without googling, tell me the name of the CEO of The Storms, The Roosters, The Raiders, Souffs

I love a good puzzle so I'm going to have a crack without googling.

Storm: Frank Panassi
Roosters: No idea, but Politis pulls the strings
Raiders: One of the Furners. Maybe Don Furner?
Souffs: Shane Richardson

Love that you had a crack and 1 out of 4 is better than I did (should have known a Furner)

Storm - Dave Donaghy,
Roosters - Joe Kelly
Raiders - Don Jr
Souffs - Blake Solly

Well known leaders one and all

Blake Solly should be known. Was fingered in the Slammin Sammy cover-up. Named as providing Sam with the other woman's mobile number so he could harass her

Excellent post. The amount of vitriol that spews fourth sometimes, based on nothing more than unsubstantiated rumours, is unbelievable, unbalanced and unwarranted.

I have to counter some of this, as a long time paying member who drives over 2hrs each way to watch WT regularly I feel I’ve earned the right to be a negative Nelly.

1 the jury is still out on the JAC verdict, I’m not going to bash the club until it’s official
2 Souths are consistent top 4 team and reports suggest the Dogs are about to embark on the type of signing spree we simply cannot match, herein lies our gripe
3 until we can sign a marquee or two we will continue to be considered a laughing stock by many, we are treated like a door mat/retirement fund by the NRL, coaches and players
4 it’s too early to use Blore/Stef to hand out awards to Pascoe and co for any marvellous turnaround at WT
5 all the other good stuff you have pointed out needs to be converted into on-field performance before us Negative nellies will be happy, all 16 clubs should be doing that stuff as a minimum, it’s their bread and butter.

Mediocrity is in the walls at WT, what good will accepting it do?

I do a fare bit of reading about our club, just wondering who has stated we are a laughing stock of the NRL, I must have missed it.

I would have thought there were a lot more clubs worse off than us.

Until this year we have finished in the top 9 for last 2 years? so I would have thought that there were 7 clubs wishing they were in our position.

Yes, I, like all of us want to finish top 8, and I think we will sooner rather then later.

Man the dogs have come last or near enough for years . They SHOULD have way more money to spend. We all knew next year was the year for big time signings , as that’s when our dead cap really comes off the books . So why is everyone losing their mind ?
And the dogs have signed Cotric , a winger , who has decided it’s 1996 and he wants to play centre , DWZ last year , a winger who we dodged the Bullet on being paid 850k , Flanagan , the jury’s still out on him , and Jack Hetherington , a bench forward who doesn’t mind starting a fight every now and then .
And finally they want to give JAC another winger , guaranteed 750k coin , when he might be wearing the 5 by round 12 .
Where has the club messed up in any of this .
In the same period , we have improved our junior stock , and signed players like Stefano , apparently resigned McIntyre , signed Tamou , and tried to get JAC on top winger money plus fullback incentives .
I don’t see where the animosity comes from. It’s 2020 not 2016 . Anything that has happened prior is your issue not the current administration. People need to recognise that.

Our coaching, development and progress of juniors to the NRL team (our team!) must be improved. The Storm's players always look fitter, faster, more skilfull and ready for the NRL than ours. In many cases we have exactly the same talent or better. So it is these areas we really need to improve immediately. There has been lots of improvement at WTs in junior recruitment, retention, the COE and the bank balance. This is commendable and let's keep it going so the press have to write articles about how a club formed from two less fashionable clubs is the benchmark for junior recruitment, retention and promotion.

It’s not the media that makes them laugh it’s the win-loss column, lack of September football and bog average squad.

"The fact that you cant name the CEO of Storms, Roosters, Raiders, Souffs speaks to how much the CEO;s of these organisation communicate outside of the organisation, band these are successful organisations."
