And we thought the Mitchell saga was drawn out. What a joke.

This is no where near as bad. Was way worse with Latrell, meetings with cowboys people driving to Taree etc. this just sounds like normal negotiations. Melbourne are making life hard

Our pack should be good next year
Easter Island Head
Garlick sauce
Blore
McIntyre
Garner
Luciano
Stefano
Twal
we look promising

Pretty much the same pack that got owned most weeks this year.

I think our pack improves next year. Stefano and Musgrove will add much needed impact off the bench. we should have a very dangerous back row pairing if Blore has a big preseason. Tamou will have one starting spot and Aloiai and Twal should build on what were good seasons this year. still missing a tearaway that will go to war with the opposition, but for the most part I think we're doing ok.

I think our starting pack improves. Something like:

8 Tamou
9 Liddle
10 Mikaele
11 Luciano
12 Garner
13 Twal

14 Stefano
15 Aloiai
16 Blore
17 Musgrove

Mcintyre, Seyfarth, Chee Kam and Packer as back ups. Its a solid pack but really lacking quality depth in the backrow once some injuries hit like they did this year. Think you may find one of those props move into the back row potentially. We are really 1-2 backrowers short, but have a host of props in Mikaele, Tamou, Steafno, Aloiai, Musgrove, Packer and Twal (Is ore a prop tbh).

We need another big second rower

No way Mika starts . He will be lucky to make the team . Garlic sauce and Musgrove (in his limited minutes ) have proven to be way better . Twal isn’t a lock , and McIntyre I think will move there permanently . All this spells doom for Mika in first grade unless he fixes his defensive lapses , and aggression , he has left in 2018.
He needs the Delorean to bring his aggression back.

Appears to be a few positive pollyannas on here. And that’s ok, but at least come up with some honest disclosure for your attitude.
We hear nothing from the club, I suppose because they have nothing. How about those pollyannas stop ***trying to ridicule fans who are simply hanging out for some good news,*** asking to be swayed by some tiny indication that the club has decided to develop as a professional organisation.

Im not a positive pollyanna, Im as disappointed as anyone else with our lack of success, but it doesnt get in the way of the truth for me.

As you said, we have heard NOTHING from the club at all in regards to JAC negotiations. After the Latrell experience, I would think everyone would welcome that.

But in the absence of news from the club, the ***negative nellies*** here simply make stuff up and that is not helpful in a discussion. I have read here that management has "fumbled" the JAC discussion (despite the fact we ahve heard nothing and know nothing), we are a laughing stock (despite the fact that Souffs and Bulldogs are in the same boat as us and many more imagined woes that have no basis in truth.

Myself and many others here have pointed out that significantly increased revenue, stabilised board structure, elimination of debt, increases year on year for membership, massive increases in sponsorship, appointing sponsor as chairman, Appointing twin premiership winning coach, cutting deadwood from coaching staff, establishment of the COE, signing Aus Schoolboys half and hooker, getting the Grant loan over the line, picking players on form and dropping high profile players regardless of profile and paypacket. signing of Tamou, LL, Blore, Stef, Douiehi.......are ALL very positive indications of the direction we are going, but you would be excused for not hearing it over the WHAAAAAAA WHAAAAAA WHAAAAAA

Excellent post. The amount of vitriol that spews fourth sometimes, based on nothing more than unsubstantiated rumours, is unbelievable, unbalanced and unwarranted.

I have to counter some of this, as a long time paying member who drives over 2hrs each way to watch WT regularly I feel I’ve earned the right to be a negative Nelly.

1 the jury is still out on the JAC verdict, I’m not going to bash the club until it’s official
2 Souths are consistent top 4 team and reports suggest the Dogs are about to embark on the type of signing spree we simply cannot match, herein lies our gripe
3 until we can sign a marquee or two we will continue to be considered a laughing stock by many, we are treated like a door mat/retirement fund by the NRL, coaches and players
4 it’s too early to use Blore/Stef to hand out awards to Pascoe and co for any marvellous turnaround at WT
5 all the other good stuff you have pointed out needs to be converted into on-field performance before us Negative nellies will be happy, all 16 clubs should be doing that stuff as a minimum, it’s their bread and butter.

Mediocrity is in the walls at WT, what good will accepting it do?

I do a fare bit of reading about our club, just wondering who has stated we are a laughing stock of the NRL, I must have missed it.

I would have thought there were a lot more clubs worse off than us.

Until this year we have finished in the top 9 for last 2 years? so I would have thought that there were 7 clubs wishing they were in our position.

Yes, I, like all of us want to finish top 8, and I think we will sooner rather then later.

Tell somebody who follows another team you follow WT, queue the chuckles.

To be honest I have never had that reaction when telling people who I support.

You’re obviously meeting them for the 1st time lol

I’ve never had anyone chuckle or sneer at me for being a Wests Tiger fan. In fact, I get quite a few thumbs ups

The difference might have to do with border restrictions.
Flanagan used to have meetings with potential signings at his house to keep it out of the media

Trent Barrett on Triple M today said it was a complicated one and didn't think it wo uuld be resolved anytime soon.
Didn't sound that confident.
Not sure how it's complicated when he can sign on for 2022 next week.
Surely things fall into place after that.

Its complicated because his 1st preference is Souths and whether they can find room for him.

Yep that's where I expect him to land. You can see Souths are making room

Thw worst things about Souths getting him is that they should of been docked a part of the salary cap for Inglis and Burgess. Inglis is running around now but no penalty to Souths. Burgess has recurring problems in his shoulder but Souths opted to give him a huge contract regardless. He medically retires and there is no penalty. Absolute rubbish that this club is where it is at now. Just highlights that this is not an even competition.

Yet we get pinched for an offer that never happened ?‍♂️

JAC will be announced after the Grand Final with the Tigers. Also Edene Gebbie is on our radar and I think he has agreed to join.

I take it your not so confident about this now?

Its JAC... whoever he joins wants he wants then to sign him for next season not the one after. This means player swap has to happen. For that to happen the other player has to agree and has to be wanted by the Storm.

We can offer him a deal for 2022 but thats not what JAC wants. The storm also wouldn’t have an issue with him playing another year for them (they did it this year).

It’s not about money hence why it's complicated

Surely JAC has signed somewhere... The Storm is a professional outfit and will not be paying a player salary (from Nov 1) if he does intend to leave.

Pretty good follow up. People must hear rumors and believe it without realizing how these things can change pretty quickly. Until it's official it can change.

The Andrew Webster article in the Herald yesterday was throwing a few stiff arms at Solly and Souths for not being able to hang onto Suaalii. Interestingly he claims the youngster was earmarked as Souths FB from 22. He goes onto explain it was the reason for Mitchell getting a one year contract. My question is, now they’re out of the race for Suaalii, do Souths still think there is a better FB in Addo-Carr available? Has the Mitchell experiment run it’s course?

It would not be hard for Foxx to call his mate and ask his opinion.
I keep hearing about a swap deal with Storm, but cannot find a single quote from Bellamy asking for a swap? I do know he has every coach and their assistants looking for replacement wingers because he is losing 2.

And they got the Burgess retirement in 5 weeks, which gave them the cash for Latrell. Greenberg’s was even quoted saying he hopes it happens quickly for them.

Meanwhile Matulinos took us 4 months

No favourites though, honest
