The dogs sign him media will report $500k if we signed him the media would report we signed him on $700+

Anyway who wants JAC when Mansour is so tantalisingly close with the added bonus of blocking the pathways for our youngsters.

Thank god that's over.

Too much money to pay for a winger, I'd rather keep Nofa for a little more than half the price of JAC.

Nofo was apparently asking 685 or something ridiculous. Canterbury got JAC to move from Melbourne for say 550k per season. I bet we are paying Nofo more than 300k per year.

They’re paying him a lot more than 550k. Closer to 800k.

Those in the know were suggesting Nofa would re-sign for 400k odd. Not much more than half.

If you think JAC went to anyone other than the highest bidder then I can’t help you.

I personally think JAC went to the highest bidder. The figure is reported at $ 2 million for 4 years. I don't think it'd be $800k but I hope it is.

I don't know the figures, just the dogs hijacked our agreement with him with a higher offer.

I agree with this. The problem is they probably just out-bid us which sucks. I'd like them to have blown our offer away.

I for one am disappointed that we missed out on JAC a player of his ability whould have been most welcome.
But I’m even more disappointed and concerned that he whould go to the dogs rather than tigers,it can’t just be money that we keep missing out on high profile players.I think the question needs to be asked why

You maybe disappointed we didnt get him,I wasnt,he used compassionate grounds to get to Sydney,we were a stepping stone for him while Dogs offered plenty more...He also left here on bad terms,so it was inevitable that he was only using us to get where HE wants to be...

But but most were saying where he wants to be is at south’s
Once again we miss out

We miss out for no possible reason other than money. He isn't going to a better club. He isn't going to Souths to play with his mates. He is going to the Dogs for money.

You'd like to think we could have outbid most other offers especially with the dollars mentioned.

I dont really care that we didn't sign him, I didn't ever think we were really going to.

But it does look a bit negative how we identified him as a target, courted him, and then he went elsewhere. Mitchell all over again. It looks like we're being used. Im not saying we are, I'm saying it can look like that to some.

I think we're doing well overall, we just need to work out why sometimes these negotiations stall, and figure out how to stop ot occurring on the future.

Maybe insist that in all future negotiations with players, the fact we are negotiating is not to be leaked to the media. Not by us or the player. Souths seemed to stop dealing with that young Suali kid when it hit the press. Maybe that's what we need to do.

We will probably never know but the new pricing strategy (for want of a better word) gives us a price/value of a player and we chose not to go above it, I would have liked him here but not to be so we move on, there are always others.
Will be interesting how the dogs will go in 22, hopefully we are ahead of them.

TigerWest agree with what you’re saying we do move on still doesn’t explain why we miss out on this type of player.
I don’t give a ? how dogs or any other club goes next season I just want tigers to make the 8

From my understanding it is basically something like I said, we had a value for him and would not go above, otherwise we should have been able to blow them off the park.

Maybe he believes the dogs ARE a better club than us. A lot of people would agree with him.

Adam Hartigan is very astute with players value. He wont pay overs. Just have to trust him that he will bring in the right players for the right money. We have made plenty of good young signings and got the jet on a bargain price. Obviously lacking a marquee signing or 2

Pascoe keeps drilling in to us the fact we are after players who want to be here and show certain qualities. Perhaps after a few meetings with JAC the Tigers thought he was not the right fit for our club?

But but he was a Wests Tigers fan growing up? How could he leave and the turn us down again...
THB never thought he was coming so 446 pages of nothing

So he took only $500k per year? Sounds like the new Bulldogs chairman that owns all the pubs might be doing a Politis and offering extras outside of the contract.
Just can't see why JAC would settle for $500 pa when he could've got a heap more. Seems suss.

This can only be considered as a massive failure for our recruitment team at our club. There was an elite player who wanted to join us, and agreed to join us, and yet we still couldn't get the deal done. How he chooses the Dogs over us when they seemingly offered the exact same deal we did is beyond me. They've now signed two origin backs and we've signed an injury prone player with massive off field issues.

He's not joining his brothers at souths, he's joining losers at the dogs instead or returning 'home' to us, a club he's supported and shown his appreciation of the club in the past. What happened. How did we turn him off us so quickly?!

I can only imagine our signing him to the MOU only to then not arrange a trade for him. Failing to trade inferior players for far superior players is a massive fail for the club and a plus for the dogs. They still have no spine and a lot of money tied up in a handful of players so they're going to have no depth. They've just signed MWZ for example

Something clearly went wrong. It might not have been the club at all though, he was keen and ready to come then something happened and he changed his mind. Could’ve been something the club did or could’ve been outside influences getting in his head. Either way it’s very disappointing we couldn’t get it done - hopefully they make us feel better by getting someone else decent for 2022

I think we changed our minds.

We made the offer, he stayed with Storm for 21 and wouldn't sign for 22 - we dropped out of the race, that is what Lee said.

We didn't lose to Dogs we dropped out of the race. Personally glad we did.

I think most of the leaks come from the players agents, for publicity and to force the price up.Though it would be smart if Madge and management played it cool and shut their mouths.

We pulled out a couple of weeks ago by the sounds of things when he was mucking us around, very similar to the Latrell situation.

No doubt the dogs offer was higher than ours. Won't be long and they'll be back in a salary cap mess, especially if some of these guys like Cotric and Burton don't fire.

Well I think its good that its reported as a 4 year deal on $2m
Don't think Nofo's manager can ask more than that now when comparing players. Shows we would have been paying overs again for a position that has not played.

500k a year is a bargain. It's regrettable that we opted to not to beat that assume JAC's decision between us and the Dogs was purely driven by money.

Who said it was 500k? Source.

We supposedly offered 550k for wing and 650 for FB with more if he nailed it.

I think Dogs offer would be at least 700k.

We pulled out because that is overs to our recruitment figures apparently.

That is good, not bad.

i think you are right. We were interested, but we didn't want at that price.
Happy there was no bidding war.

So many things about JAC are suss. Oh well he likes to clown around. Too bad he picked on Wests tigers.
