This can only be considered as a massive failure for our recruitment team at our club. There was an elite player who wanted to join us, and agreed to join us, and yet we still couldn't get the deal done. How he chooses the Dogs over us when they seemingly offered the exact same deal we did is beyond me. They've now signed two origin backs and we've signed an injury prone player with massive off field issues.

He's not joining his brothers at souths, he's joining losers at the dogs instead or returning 'home' to us, a club he's supported and shown his appreciation of the club in the past. What happened. How did we turn him off us so quickly?!

I can only imagine our signing him to the MOU only to then not arrange a trade for him. Failing to trade inferior players for far superior players is a massive fail for the club and a plus for the dogs. They still have no spine and a lot of money tied up in a handful of players so they're going to have no depth. They've just signed MWZ for example

Something clearly went wrong. It might not have been the club at all though, he was keen and ready to come then something happened and he changed his mind. Could’ve been something the club did or could’ve been outside influences getting in his head. Either way it’s very disappointing we couldn’t get it done - hopefully they make us feel better by getting someone else decent for 2022

I think we changed our minds.

We made the offer, he stayed with Storm for 21 and wouldn't sign for 22 - we dropped out of the race, that is what Lee said.

We didn't lose to Dogs we dropped out of the race. Personally glad we did.

Yeah we dropped out for 2022 but he changed his mind on 2021 too, probably why they pulled out. Seems like he got cold feet

Who knows and who cares.

Our forwards will steamroll them any of the week. When he gets there it will be worse.

Hope they have money for a 9

Again i repeat; The top clubs for years had specialist recruitment staff, we had amatuers. This is why we were behind the good packs.Coaches are not the best people for recruitment,it takes hours of study and analising ,the coach does not have the time for that or working out the cap going forward. This year we have one of the best in Hartigan,do not be critical we do not know what goes on behind the scenes.

Been thinking for a while that JAC was a dog and today has confirmed it.
Anyway, hope Trent Barrett is able to match the success that he had at Manly, which thinking about it would be a real slap in the face.
(pun intended)

JAC is well worth 500k a season. Bulldogs win. We fight for the scraps. Or just forget winger and go for a different position.

Dogs r a genuine threat 2022

Flanagan and burton r both huge talents

And along with JAC they will fire

Barrets done well

Who gets them rolling forward though? their forward pack is reserve grade standard

They have Herrington, Thompson, big papa and Josh Jackson... it's not the worst pack.

Probably going down the same route as Souths this year. Stack the backs and hope the forwards aim up...worked for them.

Ah , that pack did nothing this year , and all they added was hetherington .
Just my opinion .

Does anyone really care ? From all accounts Laurie is a freak , and Roberts could be anything. I get it , he’s an elite winger , but that guy is going to the dogs to play 1 . Geez that’s a lot of money to commit to him if he’s just wearing the 5 .
I’d say the bonus don’t have the same heavy clauses around them that ours did . And the reason for the market drop , is because we pulled out , so it was a race of 1 .

I for one am disappointed that we missed out on JAC a player of his ability whould have been most welcome.
But I’m even more disappointed and concerned that he whould go to the dogs rather than tigers,it can’t just be money that we keep missing out on high profile players.I think the question needs to be asked why

You maybe disappointed we didnt get him,I wasnt,he used compassionate grounds to get to Sydney,we were a stepping stone for him while Dogs offered plenty more...He also left here on bad terms,so it was inevitable that he was only using us to get where HE wants to be...

But but most were saying where he wants to be is at south’s
Once again we miss out

Well let's see souths and Roosters go after Crichton now
And we will get a ?

I care a bit, would have liked him at the club.

I care like as if when I go the pub and ask what beer they have on tap , and it’s like all the old favourites , and thier ale is fat yak. Would it have been nice to have something like lashes or Kosciusko? Am I disappointed? Sure but whatever , I’m still about to down a tasty schooner of something tasty .

WTs can land a heavy blow in the player market. Between Mansour, Widdop and Hopoate we'll show them you don't need to pay a fortune for scintillating backline talent.

A schooner of addo carr is like an ice cold Lowenbrau in Munich, Mansour is a Tooheys Red at the cauliflower hotel in Redfern. Not all beer is the same.

I think we need to land a big fish. We’ve had Mitchell and JAC on the line but haven’t landed either one. We need to prove to ourselves and the wider RL community that we can compete with the best. B. Smith is the next ‘big fish.’ Go get him Tigers!!

Yea , but you don’t have to that tooheys red. In fact . I prefer not to . So I won’t , maybe I’ll just go without and have a nice scotch instead.
Just like JAC , the Lowenbrau in Munich is only good cause it’s at Oktoberfest and fits a certain position . When you smash it on tap somewhere else maybe it doesn’t taste the same . Maybe it tastes like bum hole .
