He is not our most important signing in a decade, he's a winger. Our most important/heralded was Josh Reynolds and now we are making him feel bad*, trying to offload him at every turn. Spine players and forward leaders are the important ones. The rest are window dressing.

He would be the first current Australian player we’ve ever signed and the first current origin player since Hodgson. He would easily be the best player we’ve signed in at least a decade and would indicate that we’ve turned a corner and that good players want to be here without us paying crazy overs.

It’s an extremely important signing and wingers are one of the most important positions in the modern game. If we play tough and lose him it would be absolutely terrible

Who would we not trade?

We shouldn't have to trade anybody.

Too difficult, If he wants to come so bad, we'll can do it it for 2022.

On the open market we’d be no chance. He will have far more attractive options for ‘22 come November. This is our shot.

Exactly. Right now we’re the only club who can really take him on and if we miss this chance we will most likely lose him.

Yep, out of the finals, as per normal. The only way we’ll ever get better is with a better roster. If they want Talau they can have him.

Give storm Talau for JAC

No

Why not ?

Because we should not have to trade anyone.

We are prepared to pay top money 5-800k (if he gets to play FB) and they want Nofo
who is on something like 450k or Talau who is on 250k + for nothing.

That could take JAC up to 1.05 or 1.25 million. NOT WORTH anything like that.

**For got god's sake if Storm want Talau for JAC it's a no brainer, let him go and maybe come back when Storm has trained his arse off, he'll quickly learn that Madge wasn't that bad after all, we win!** Moma will come back with a bit more polish, it's a pity injuries kept him out of playing more games though. Do what's necessary to get JAC pls tigers.

Have i missed something? From all reports Talau has never been afraid of hard work.

Absolutely. If we 'lose him', it's because he didn't want to come here as a first choice anyway. It's not the be-all and end-all to sign him up, (he'd be our best back, don't get me wrong), we just need to ensure we have a good target next in line to chase if it falls through (like one of those Penrith young kids, Burton or Staines).

We would be swapping players not salaries .

Another year of mediocrity and missing out on good players. This signing is more than just what he brings on the field it’s about changing the culture of the club as a whole and if we miss out on him because we didn’t want to trade them some half average outside back when it’s the stupidest thing we’ve ever done.

Where there's this much smoke, there's fire. We 'fobbed' them off? Just a week and a half after Marshall's manager leaks out a story we're not offering him a contract and lets him go all over TV to make us look stupid. Three weeks after a story leaks about players and eggs.

Someone in the front office is rubbing a lot of people the wrong way.

Not the be all and end all.

These comments real sum up our club. Nothing like doing something half arsed.

Or you can look at it like swapping a half decent prospect for one of the best players in the game. We wouldn’t be paying talaus salary it would be freed up we would end up with an extra $200k-$300k in the cap.

The article is Melbourne trying to scare WT into doing a deal. They want a player and tigers are playing hardball and they aren’t happy

JAC is not going to be the difference between mediocrity and us being an NRL force.

He is a fast winger, that is all. (We at this stage do not have the players to make use of him).

We would be better getting those players first, by the time we get them JAC will be retired.

Yeah, I read it. Sure, Melbourne have incentive to behave like goons but this is three weeks in a row where the club has been allowed to be slandered in the media.

If we miss out on him, it won't be because we didn't want to trade, it will be because he wanted to go elsewhere. Whether we agreed to 'trade' one of our players we would rather have kept wouldn't matter.

Stiff for them. They have pinched enough players off us.

I'm going to say something that is very unlike me, I think we are playing this right. We have a squad to manage and I do not see the point of filling one hole in our roster only to create another by swapping out a player. I think we are starting to play these situations well.
