I don't think WT need another offseason like last year when Latrell mucked us around. If JAC is not signed, sealed and delivered to WT before end of November then lets move on and put our time and efforts in luring across Staines and Burton. Let JAC either stay at Storm or Souths or Easts find a player to medically retire and freeing up money to sign him.

Yep.
Cordner to be medically retired
Ethan Lowe to be medically retired

Said it all along the race is on for either of those teams to sign JAC. They’re just trying to work out how.

Webster is wrong based on logic.the only wayJAC goes back to the storm and asked for a release to the tigers Is if a contact has been agreed to , if not yet signed . We know this because the storm management were talking about how the compensation we want to give isn’t good enough all last week .

The Storm CEO didn't mention tigers directly, he said JAC's 'preferred club'. The article then went on to mention souths first, then tigers.

So is his preferred club WT or Souths?

We’re going to hear another 20 inside scoops before all is said and done. Given Origin is in November, we might not get any clarity on this till December.

Apparently Bellamy confirmed it was the Wests Tigers at the weekend.

Am i way off here .. but whats the go with Storm demanding that move will only happen if they get a like for like replacement going the other way .. ?? Since when does this crap happen .. ?? Did we get a player of like for like for Ryan Matterson when he left us for the Slimies .. NO.

I'll go even further back .. who did Storm give us when they stole JAC out from under our watch a few years back .. NOBODY .. !!

So how can the Storm demand they will only release him if they like for like player .. if the player wants to leave due to family personal reasons, you either grant him permission or not .. !! This is becoming madness .. !!

Because he’s contracted. When they signed JAC from us, he was off contract, hence, they didn’t owe us anything. Simples.

As for Matterson, we used his money and got AD and the Leilua’s

If JAC is coming he should sign a letter of intent so WT'S know how fair dinkum he is if not we should look elsewhere he would be good but do we want another Latrine episode if he won't commit lets move on a go hard for BURTON & STAINES

Is this article a journalist quoting another journalist of the TV passing it off as his own work? This article is pretty lazy journalism..

He is watching TV and writing about it. The only quote in the whole article is Noffa hasn’t had any contact about a swap deal.... the rest is an opinion by a journo.. terrible

hopefully we don't put all of our eggs in one basket!

From previous experience, JAC’s preferred club is anyone that will pay him the most dollars. ATM it’s Wests Tigers. We are the only team desperate enough to sign him on top dollar. If Souths or East match or come close, then they will be his “preferred” club.

JAC left to chase the money previously. I don’t think much would have changed now. Not faulting a guy that wants to get the most for himself and his family, but as a Tigers supporter, it does suck.

You would have to believe our Coach and Hartigan are smart enough to have a back up plan for this one as they have shown already they are intelligent operators..

To tell the truth I am getting fed up with all the rorts which have been going on in NRL. The rich, devious and underhand clubs rise to the top whilst the honest clubs languish. Roosters and Souths are currently at the top of the tree in this regard.

The Storm can do what they like, they hold the contract. Pity we did not do the same with the Tanker and Matterson. They run a hard nose club, that’s why they are successful. It’s all about damage control

JAC is a match winner. We've got players at the Club who are on similar figures or more who offer substantially less.

And the Storm are in the Melbourne bubble where in reality NRL hardly rates a mention in the media down there. Basically they do not have the scrutiny that all other NRL clubs have to deal with. So they can play hardball, disregard player welfare and it won’t even raise a blip on the Melbourne media’s radar.

What would you guys think about "loaning" Nofoaluma for 2021 to Melbourne for JAC? This way if he is still on our payroll, we can claim the concession down the track, Nofoaluma will definitely come back an even better player and we get JAC

Nofo can go there full-time for JAC. They're not in the same class.

The only people who think Nofo is in the same galaxy as JAC are WT supporters.

It's not about comparing them, it's wanting both. No point having JAC on one wing and a Jennings on the other. A combination of Nofo and JAC is what we want, and if we can pull it off like that that's what we should be aiming for.

Good on our management.

And RE Talau, you'll probably be the same people complaining about why we let him go in a few years ala Paps. He is VERY young and inexperienced, if the Storm really do want him (and its just a rumour as far as I know) that says a lot about him and his potential.

Again, if we can get JAC without caving in and giving someone in return - good management.

Let it play out.

Storm will give in they don't want a disgruntled JAC next year

What makes you think that? I think the exact opposite. Sorry JAC couldn’t find a replacement, you’ll have to stay and honour your contract.

It's what a decent club should do. Why would they budge? Exactly my feelings about us with Matterson, and Parra then made the smart decision and didn't release our prop to us early either. Why would you? They have contracts. Just because we cave in again and again, doesn't mean other clubs are dumb enough to do so.

What makes you think Melbourne is a decent club? That’s not what I would call Melbourne.

Decent: of an acceptable standard; satisfactory.

Yep, they smash that out of the water.

In the press conference with Bellamy they mentioned that this is 5 top 2 finishes in a row.

Outstanding! But people wanting to deride their achievements due to cap cheating years ago don't see it. But turn an eye to our cap cheating . funny

Let's get this straight - we did not cap cheat.

Everybody new what we were doing, we were not hiding anything - it was widely reported.

We did however not advise the NRL. It was NOT cheating.

Poor form to suggest we were in my opinion.

Aahhh, we did.

Of course we did. Hence the penalty and the de-registration of JP.

I disagree, I say we did not cheat. We made a bad administration error, which the NRL said could have been manipulated, hence was against their rules, hence the penalty.

It could have been used to cheat, hence why they penalised us, but there was no proof I ever read that it was us actually cheating and getting an advantage from it, or trying to get an advantage from it.

By the letter of the (NRL) law did we cheat, yes. By the definition of the word, most definitely not. We stood to gain no benefit whatsoever. I'd hesitate to use the word cheat too, even when describing the NRL's perspective. Rather we simply overlooked the process and did the wrong thing.

If there is no advantage or gain to any party it would be very difficult to call it cheating. An error yes, but cheating no.

An inducement to leave is an advantage, he also came back 18 months later, so someone could argue the inducment was to return to the club.

Fair enough but really all they did was they failed to fill out form 1534J Section 3 Subsection 4. It was an error.

If for example the Roosters were in the same situation and offered a player on $950k a future job, that they didn't tell the NRL about, so he would leave, and then 18 months later he came back on a much reduced contract would you be ok with that?

I'm not saying that was what we were intending to do but from the outside looking in it can be argued that is how it appears and would set a precedence that other teams could take advantage of.

Everyone knew, they were not trying to hide it. The NRL, Turdberg in particular, got their noses out of joint because we didn’t file the correct paperwork. It was a ridiculous fine/punishment for a very minor error. No one was trying to cheat anyone.

There is a reason the NRL wants to know as it is an area to be exploited. The rules are simple to follow, we didn't follow them and then we asked for compensation for Farah being disruptive despite the fact we had an offer for him to return.

It was well known, they could have just picked up the phone an sorted it out. But no they had to take the look at us, we’re in charge and we will tell you what to do and officiate to show you who’s boss approach. It was a ridiculous response to a very minor error.

I don't think offering a guy a job as an incentive to leave is a minor issue, especially when that player returns to play 18 months later. Just like Burgess shouldn't be allowed to return to Souths next year.

Different scenario as Burgess went out on medical grounds. However the Burgess scenario was rorting the cap legally - the only difference between what souffs did and what we didn't do was notify the NRL of their intention to employ Burgess. Same goes with the Ingliss retirement. Cam Smith is another one for scrutiny - according to the media he has been offered a role at Melbourne after he retires - that appears to be an inducement to me. And it appears as though its the media announcing it the same as they did with us. Have Melbourne already notified the NRL of their intention even if Cam isn't interested?
