Rapana has been tabled an offer from the Tigers.
Now he is going back to the Raiders to see what their offer will be.

Isn't this what player managers normally do (or player themselves if they have no manager) is weigh up all offers. If the Tigers have in fact tabled an offer then he is aware of our position and given his time with the Raiders he obviously wants to gauge their interest. Tamou supposedly was also offered a contract by the Dragons and Penrith so he weighed up his options prior to choosing the Tigers.

I would love JAC at the tigers but not at more than 550k. We can not blow our salary cap on a winger. Granted, he is a gun winger, but we need to be better at identifying what we need and how we can get it.

We are so short sighted that we are linked to any decent player that becomes available, regardless of their position or our needs.

That's why we have so many five eigth/ fullback and half/hookers.

What position do we need to fill? Who is the best option available LONG TERM, not who is available TODAY

In taking JAC out of the Storm system that has made him (and others) excel, what makes you so sure he won't be another one of those "disappointing appoinments" for us? ....should it happen, of course.

Because the one exceptional skill he has isnt reliant on any other player or system. He doesnt depend on Cam Smith or Bellamy to run fast.

Of course its just one hammy tear away from coming back to the pack.

So let’s not at least trie to sign any high quality players from successful clubs because they may fail in our system. Well they do go backwards when they come only problem is I can’t remember the last time we signed any one of his ability

Wests tigers are offering off cutt players form more successful clubs 1 more contract for them to milk out more money before they retire.

Even though this is a rumor thread - It seems the Tigers haven't learnt yet that we shouldn't recruit the dregs of the NRL hoping that the player will have a stellar year like they did years back.

Past performance isn't a reliable indicator of future returns.

No offence but that doesn’t really mean much to me. A lot of people say that and still get fed misinformation. Like I said I would expect tigers are talking to him as a backup option if they can’t get JAC

I’d be surprised if Rapana left Canberra to be honest If they offer him another year, they need wingers too.
