This whole JAC thread is just deja vu of the Latrell situation last year, even the same clubs are involved and dare I say it, the desire of the brothers to play together. Don’t think for a moment that Bennett is not interested in JAC. Souths will find a way win his signature, they always do.

We need to be looking at finding some other backs with speed now and not throwing all our eggs in the one basket while waiting for JAC to make a decision and the Bunnies to get their finances in order so they can snare him from under our noses once again. If we go into next season without speed in our backline, yet again, then we may as well bend over and kiss our ass goodbye for the year.

Best post in ages, LM situation again.

Unfortunately, Dont see this coming to fruition

I don't think you can say this until it happens.

At least JAC seems to respect us, that wasn't happening with LM.

I think it is exactly what has been said before, Melbourne are holding out for a replacement. By November on whenever the salary cap starts again for the following year, I think they'll want him off their books.

I’m not sure what people expect us to do re JAC?

The club can’t sign him until he’s granted a release from the storm, who 2 weeks before the finals said they were putting a hold on any talks until after the GF

The indications are fairly positive, he has said on record he sees a lot of potential in our squad and the new COE is very impressive. That’s a lot more then we ever got from Latrell

Whilst it’s frustrating for us as fans to have no news we have to be patient because the clubs hands are tied.

Pretty clear most recruitment is on hold til after the finals especially where targeted players like JAC are still involved. If he decides to go elsewhere, it's not the end of the world. All we can do is make the guy a fair offer which I imagine we've already done. Can't see Souths being interested in paying him fullback money to play on the wing which is all he'll get with Latrell having first dibs on the 1 jersey.

How did the Warriors poach AFB if he was still under contract for a further 2 years? Kind of puts a dent in this November 1st negotiation garbage the NRL bung on with when it suits.

Exactly, work out who we want, go and talk to them, convince them we are the better place for them to be, show them a way to get out of their current club. (Family reasons, homesick, want a better opportunity, religious reasons, mental health, anything...)

Sick of being also rans. And this stuff about top clubs not wanting a distraction in the finals, so what, talk to the players, it might encourage teams to hasten up a player's exit rather than have it drag on and disrupt their finals campaign. Leak stories to the media about players wanting to come to WT, get DT working for us for a change.

No official contract offered until he was given permission to talk to other clubs

They’ll never be able to stop players managers privately talking to clubs in their spare time it’s impossible to police really

Souths have probably the best centre in the world in Latrell they could move JAC to fb or give AJ as shot at fb
All this myth about JAC and desire to play fb he wants the money first not necessarily fb plus he would like to play with walker LM and gaga etc

Making assumptions Latrell is cool to move back to the centres?

Someone earlier suggested James Roberts was going to be moved on, only if he wants to, believe he has a contract

If we miss out on JAC I think Pascoe should walk. That'll be one too many names he went after that he failed to land for my liking. The dude just can't get the job done.

I think that is the most ridiculous suggestion I have ever heard.

It's a contender for sure.

I think souths will let go Roberts and sign JAC hope I am wrong

The thing I can't reconcile is JAC's reported desire to play full back and the confidence of many that he is going to Souths.

I've seen it suggested that he is only floating the idea of full back in order to increase the offers; as if a club would respond by saying: "we already have a full back, but we will pay you full back money to play on the wing". Does that make sense ?

So, either JAC wants to play full back, or he doesn't care. If he doesn't care then he could be a strong chance of going to Souths.

If he does want to play full back, and be paid full back money, then why would he go to Souths?

JAC does not care about the full back role as its made out to be. Quite evident in that he's supposedly happy to accept our X amount of games their to get that money.

If it came down to wing at Souths vs fullback at Tigers, he will take wing at Souths.

How do you know that?

It blows my mind that they are even interested.... They have the best 1-7 in the comp and there backups would be starters at most clubs. Here we are and basically begging for just 1 good player.. The Salary cap does not work in my eyes and I'm not even going to go into the rest of there SOO squad they have outside the backs. :man-facepalming:

I wouldn't mind Corey Allen at full back if JAC is messing us around.

He lacks pace so he would be another slug in the backline. We have to do far better than Corey Allen.

He ask/demanded a release and got it = free agent Warriors stepped in simple when a play wants to move until PVL does something to make players honour contracts players wanting out of contracts should have a transfer fee place on them which comes of the new clubs salary cap.

No heat on the Head Coach, Head of Football or Head of Recruitment to get the job done though?

Pascoe has been with us longer than all of them and the buck stops with him.
