Johnson staying on is dependant on Suali
No chance of getting JAC according to Paul Crawley.
Well we can lock in JAC going to souths now :money_mouth_face:
Not sure of its accuracy, but rumours are also circulating that Storm and Cowboys have put in offers to Johnston. Wasn't fond of it earlier in the year but found myself gravitating toward us putting a offer in for him - he's been great for them this year.
Hate that we always seem to be fighting for crumbs. That most of our targets are essentially based upon how the dominos fall for other clubs.
I can see it all unfolding now - Storm want a decent player swap before letting JAC go a year early on his contract, AJ to the rescue! Ethan Lowe will be medically retired at Souths to free up the extra cash they need, after they’ve offloaded AJ, to sign JAC on the coin he wants. JAC may even be willing to take a bit less if he can play with his ‘brothers’ and under Unca.
A simple and a highly likely scenario, imo. In fact, I’d bet my house on it happening. We’ve seen it all before, the strong just get stronger while the weak, as you say always seem to end up fighting for the crumbs. It’s such a fair comp this NRL, can’t wait tho watch the same teams fight it out year after year over the next decade - it will be so enthralling!
I think it's more like the smart clubs get stronger.
Would storm take brooks?
They offered him a contract oreviously. So yeah.
I think they'd be happy with Hughes these days over Brooks. seems to be another manufactured halfback out of that system like Cronk. if Bellyache got his hands on Brooks in 2016 then he'd probably be the premier halfback in the game. unfortunately multiple coaching changes and his personality traits have let him down.
as a fan of his and as a local junior of the club I truly hope he can turn it around and Madge can get a halves consultant in to help him, but I'm beginning to worry that he's hit his ceiling.
Do you really think Brooks would be the premier halfback in the game with the right coaching ? In general I think sportsmen do well because of hard work and talent. I think basically every sportsman gets top quality coaching.
I'd love to see Brooks come good but to me his performances are all on him.
I thought Cleary switched him on. He played exceptionally well in 2018. He seems to have drifted back to mediocrity in the past two years
Really ? Last 2 years - hmm in his Dally M year under Cleary he got 11 try asssts - last year under Madge he had 24, plus more line break assists, more offloads, he lead the comp on line engagements and his defence was better.
He has definately had a horror 2020 but 2019 was Brooks best year
