If JAC plays fullback he can concentrate on supporting players in the middle, there are plenty of other ball players in the backline. JAC does not just stand on the wing and wait for someone to create something for him, he often creates his own chaos from dummy half or quick play the balls. It is a risk but at worst we end up with a sensational if slightly overpriced left winger.

2021 shaping up
1 Douehi - solid at the back, would be putting him on a speed program come November
2 Nofa - NRL leading try scorer 2020
3 Talau - give him time to develop in his natural position, future rep star, Melbourne wanted him
4 BJ - get him fit and he’s world class
5 JAC - game changer, Kangaroo
6 Mbye - Queensland origin rep and our HPP, back him in the 6 with a full offseason
7 Brooks - former DM halfback of the year, give him a good forward pack and he’ll win us games

The backs are sorted. Just need a forward leader to bring our young, small forward pack along.

I think it unlikely that Doueihi will be fullback next season given he's now shifted to the centres. I suspect he'll either remain at centre or move to 6 which is likely.

The club see him as a 6, though I disagree.

We were saying most of this stuff when we were hunting LM, he’s turned out alright.
JAC is an elite player, who plays with other elite players, I don’t see him as a stupid player (though his isolation with LM was not smart) he will know what is required.
For me, if we don’t try something than nothing will change.
What’s it worth for us to get into the 8 again?

You could be right but I was happy with him at FB in most games, needs a bit more speed, which u can train for. Madge could be trying to stiffen left centre as we were leaking there.

He is a much better centre than FB and also gives us a crossfield kick target.

I’d argue we needed him to be more dynamic this year, but with Nofa and JAC racking up tries his composure and stability at FB would be ideal. Agree on the cross field kicks, your FB can set up for those too...

Whatever you say walt. The WT board clearly feel differently to you.

As we saw in the match winner last weekend.

This looks good. We need a back-up for Liddle. Hopefully Simkins is ready for a small role. Reynolds can be back-up for our halves.

So if we get jac we’re will we finish what 9 or 10th he won’t make that much difference to us I hope I’m wrong but I can’t see players coming here cause we got jac

We have some money to spend next season but anyone with a bit of nous will realise we have to endure a bit more pain next season. Get rid of Packer and Reynolds along with a couple of others and things look promising for 2022.

That's the sad reality but JAC is an important piece of the puzzle.

If true it's a really good step in the right direction.

Doueihi could be a good fullback in a team where the halfback stayed mostly in the middle, distributed the ball and supported any breaks (like the Knights and Panthers), but I don't think Doueihi's style of play, speed and skill suits the Tigers current setup.

JAC is much faster and speed is important to cover more territory when defending grubbers close to the line and opposition line breaks.

All the good teams have a half or fullback supporting in the middle, so we could play Brooks in the middle and Doueihi acts as the left side half in attack or find a different style of fullback that suits out current "7 on the left and 6 on the right" structure. Mbye looks much better in support but has other weaknesses and seems to still be injured, he asked Doueihi to kick goals last week because of groin tightness.

A good spine is about finding the structure that suits your best players, then filling the gaps.

Agree. Your spine have to implement your game plan. With Nofa and JAC on the flanks in 2021 operation ‘find the flankers’ would kick in. Douehi has set up several tries with his passing to wingers this year. I’d be exploring that as a tactic a bit like Boyd and Morris when the Dragons won a Comp.

I think we may be getting excited way too early here (me included)... Not only does JAC have the agree to terms with us but we also need to wait for Melb to release him and that could take months as A Johnson has said no and they might find it hard to attract top player with Belly going end of next year with Smith.. Hope i'm wrong and its gets done quickly and if we have actually put an offer on the table it must mean Storm allowed it or he wants to have sorted quick..

POM - It's your turn, we are ALL waiting for update :grinning: :grinning:

Yeah I’m a bit worried about today’s story. We all know the knives the media have for us. It smelt to me like an agent putting all the Sydney clubs on notice that offers should be submitted. You can bet Uncle Nick made some calls.
