I think we may be getting excited way too early here (me included)... Not only does JAC have the agree to terms with us but we also need to wait for Melb to release him and that could take months as A Johnson has said no and they might find it hard to attract top player with Belly going end of next year with Smith.. Hope i'm wrong and its gets done quickly and if we have actually put an offer on the table it must mean Storm allowed it or he wants to have sorted quick..

POM - It's your turn, we are ALL waiting for update :grinning: :grinning:

Yeah I’m a bit worried about today’s story. We all know the knives the media have for us. It smelt to me like an agent putting all the Sydney clubs on notice that offers should be submitted. You can bet Uncle Nick made some calls.

Agreed. Much less confident of getting JAC now. Its gone to auction.

I think this JAC situation could work for us on two fronts, during the off season we get Brooks to practise putting up floaters like almost every other half can do and JAC can practise catching them, win win.

1 Douehi - solid at the back, would be putting him on a speed program come November

Doueihi could be a good fullback in a team where the halfback stayed mostly in the middle, distributed the ball and supported any breaks (like the Knights and Panthers), but I don't think Doueihi's style of play, speed and skill suits the Tigers current setup.

JAC is much faster and speed is important to cover more territory when defending grubbers close to the line and opposition line breaks.

All the good teams have a half or fullback supporting in the middle, so we could play Brooks in the middle and Doueihi acts as the left side half in attack or find a different style of fullback that suits out current "7 on the left and 6 on the right" structure. Mbye looks much better in support but has other weaknesses and seems to still be injured, he asked Doueihi to kick goals last week because of groin tightness.

A good spine is about finding the structure that suits your best players, then filling the gaps.

Agree. Your spine have to implement your game plan. With Nofa and JAC on the flanks in 2021 operation ‘find the flankers’ would kick in. Douehi has set up several tries with his passing to wingers this year. I’d be exploring that as a tactic a bit like Boyd and Morris when the Dragons won a Comp.

Mbye is a much better ball player in that sort of role

Yeah and I’d have him in the 6 setting up his back rowers with his ‘touch’ passes, I can see them both getting a crack but with the money mbye is on, I’d give him every chance to replace Benji. Both need to work on short kicking.

I really like him and the ultimate aim for me would be to turn him into a million dollar player at our club. So FB or 5/8 for me. Can see your argument though.

Looks good in the centres. If I’m correct he played fly half in junior rugby and halfback at NYC level. He can read numbers and has a great passing game. I think he’s a 5/8 that will suit Brooks.

He would be more of a running 5/8th which wouldn't mesh well with Brooks who is also a running half.

So, if Adam Doueihi is at centre next year, what happens to Momo?
I don't care what anyone says, I think he's really got a lot of footy smarts, leads me to think Doueihi could very well get a run at 5/8.

We can debate positions in the backs but theres an argument we have enough points in us already. With JAC that improves again. In my mind we need to stop opposition forward packs rolling through us and setting up 30-35 points against most weeks. I know they score through our centres but the momentum starts in the middle. Tamou signing is crucial.

momo stays in melbourne for the straight swap seeing as they need a winger and a goal kicker if smith retires or goes elsewhere
