Myself and many others here have pointed out that significantly increased revenue, stabilised board structure, elimination of debt, increases year on year for membership, massive increases in sponsorship, appointing sponsor as chairman, Appointing twin premiership winning coach, cutting deadwood from coaching staff, establishment of the COE, signing Aus Schoolboys half and hooker, getting the Grant loan over the line, picking players on form and dropping high profile players regardless of profile and paypacket. signing of Tamou, LL, Blore, Stef, Douiehi.......are ALL very positive indications of the direction we are going, but you would be excused for not hearing it over the WHAAAAAAA WHAAAAAA WHAAAAAA

I have to counter some of this, as a long time paying member who drives over 2hrs each way to watch WT regularly I feel I’ve earned the right to be a negative Nelly.

I do a fare bit of reading about our club, just wondering who has stated we are a laughing stock of the NRL, I must have missed it.

I would have thought there were a lot more clubs worse off than us.

Until this year we have finished in the top 9 for last 2 years? so I would have thought that there were 7 clubs wishing they were in our position.

Yes, I, like all of us want to finish top 8, and I think we will sooner rather then later.

To be honest I have never had that reaction when telling people who I support.

I don’t see where the animosity comes from. It’s 2020 not 2016 . Anything that has happened prior is your issue not the current administration. People need to recognise that.

Hopefully Adam Doueihi and Luke Brooks can do that for us .

Myself and many others here have pointed out that significantly increased revenue, stabilised board structure, elimination of debt, increases year on year for membership, massive increases in sponsorship, appointing sponsor as chairman, Appointing twin premiership winning coach, cutting deadwood from coaching staff, establishment of the COE, signing Aus Schoolboys half and hooker, getting the Grant loan over the line, picking players on form and dropping high profile players regardless of profile and paypacket. signing of Tamou, LL, Blore, Stef, Douiehi.......are ALL very positive indications of the direction we are going, but you would be excused for not hearing it over the WHAAAAAAA WHAAAAAA WHAAAAAA

I have to counter some of this, as a long time paying member who drives over 2hrs each way to watch WT regularly I feel I’ve earned the right to be a negative Nelly.

2 Souths are consistent top 4 team and reports suggest the Dogs are about to embark on the type of signing spree we simply cannot match, herein lies our gripe

It won’t continue .thats what I think the fundamental difference is ,
Between us . I honestly think the talent is there , and I think we got the attack right this year , finally , only for us to put a couple of turnstyles next to each other in defence , a few key injuries in the middle , and we just leaked like crazy down that edge . If we put Blore Doueihi , BJ and Nofa next to each other , that’s much better . Especially if you have a McIntyre and Tamou sliding across to cover the middle .
As soon as a team cut back inside , and got benji and garner trying to tackle laterally , it was party time for the attacking teams .
As the year went on , every body picked it up . This combined with guys like Mika and Packer being slow to fill the gap .
That’s what needs to be fixed . We can buy all the speedy wingers we want , but get middles to come across and cover the under ball , and help with exposing edge players to 1 on 1 tackles .

I have to agree with a lot of the forum members,develop the juniors that show potential and worth to the club,add some incentives if possible to keep them wanting to stay at the club they started with..I know the cap comes into it once the young guys make the squad,but there must be a way the club can hold onto our kids that display star status..
Recruiting experienced players in prominent positions to help the young guys solidify their positions and transition to the weekly grind of NRL fg is a must..
Tamou is a good start,now Madge has to find another experienced player(s) to either fill a fullback void or consolidate him in with the backs to help the attacking thrust of the backline as well as the forwards..
With the young guys it sometimes can be a trial and error situation as we have found out this past season with Garner who played well on one side and lost his way on the other,many factors can come into it and thats what Madge is here for,I trust his experience and know how that he needs to make us the Club and team we all expect it to be..

I actually think we pretty much agree. I just feel we need a couple of really quality NRL players to tip us over the edge, improve our pulling power and bring the young brigade along. Blore only really had a good 10 mins against Parra, hopefully a pre season will bring that out consistently.
