Appears to be a few positive pollyannas on here. And that’s ok, but at least come up with some honest disclosure for your attitude.
We hear nothing from the club, I suppose because they have nothing. How about those pollyannas stop ***trying to ridicule fans who are simply hanging out for some good news,*** asking to be swayed by some tiny indication that the club has decided to develop as a professional organisation.

Im not a positive pollyanna, Im as disappointed as anyone else with our lack of success, but it doesnt get in the way of the truth for me.

As you said, we have heard NOTHING from the club at all in regards to JAC negotiations. After the Latrell experience, I would think everyone would welcome that.

But in the absence of news from the club, the ***negative nellies*** here simply make stuff up and that is not helpful in a discussion. I have read here that management has "fumbled" the JAC discussion (despite the fact we ahve heard nothing and know nothing), we are a laughing stock (despite the fact that Souffs and Bulldogs are in the same boat as us and many more imagined woes that have no basis in truth.

Myself and many others here have pointed out that significantly increased revenue, stabilised board structure, elimination of debt, increases year on year for membership, massive increases in sponsorship, appointing sponsor as chairman, Appointing twin premiership winning coach, cutting deadwood from coaching staff, establishment of the COE, signing Aus Schoolboys half and hooker, getting the Grant loan over the line, picking players on form and dropping high profile players regardless of profile and paypacket. signing of Tamou, LL, Blore, Stef, Douiehi.......are ALL very positive indications of the direction we are going, but you would be excused for not hearing it over the WHAAAAAAA WHAAAAAA WHAAAAAA

Excellent post. The amount of vitriol that spews fourth sometimes, based on nothing more than unsubstantiated rumours, is unbelievable, unbalanced and unwarranted.

I have to counter some of this, as a long time paying member who drives over 2hrs each way to watch WT regularly I feel I’ve earned the right to be a negative Nelly.

1 the jury is still out on the JAC verdict, I’m not going to bash the club until it’s official
2 Souths are consistent top 4 team and reports suggest the Dogs are about to embark on the type of signing spree we simply cannot match, herein lies our gripe
3 until we can sign a marquee or two we will continue to be considered a laughing stock by many, we are treated like a door mat/retirement fund by the NRL, coaches and players
4 it’s too early to use Blore/Stef to hand out awards to Pascoe and co for any marvellous turnaround at WT
5 all the other good stuff you have pointed out needs to be converted into on-field performance before us Negative nellies will be happy, all 16 clubs should be doing that stuff as a minimum, it’s their bread and butter.

Mediocrity is in the walls at WT, what good will accepting it do?

Man the dogs have come last or near enough for years . They SHOULD have way more money to spend. We all knew next year was the year for big time signings , as that’s when our dead cap really comes off the books . So why is everyone losing their mind ?
And the dogs have signed Cotric , a winger , who has decided it’s 1996 and he wants to play centre , DWZ last year , a winger who we dodged the Bullet on being paid 850k , Flanagan , the jury’s still out on him , and Jack Hetherington , a bench forward who doesn’t mind starting a fight every now and then .
And finally they want to give JAC another winger , guaranteed 750k coin , when he might be wearing the 5 by round 12 .
Where has the club messed up in any of this .
In the same period , we have improved our junior stock , and signed players like Stefano , apparently resigned McIntyre , signed Tamou , and tried to get JAC on top winger money plus fullback incentives .
I don’t see where the animosity comes from. It’s 2020 not 2016 . Anything that has happened prior is your issue not the current administration. People need to recognise that.

Would you like to see Burton, JAC, Cotric and Flanagan at WT?

In a vacuum sure , but 2 of those are wingers , 1 could be anything and the other to do what play half ? Ahead of who ? Brooks and Doueihi ? Ah no , I wouldn’t like Flanagan to do that .

FB JAC
W COTRIC
C DOUEHI
C BJ
W NOFA
6 Flanno
7 Brooks
13/14 Burton

Some points in that lot

And in this imaginary world , where did we get the 1.5 mil to sign those players , when that money is wrapped up in Our reserve half and prop.

Now we’ve come full circle, I believe my argument started by being critical of the club that signed said duds. Yes, Cleary was there but I recall it was Pascoe trumpeting how aggressive they had been after letting go of Teddy and co.

Cool , how’s that relevant to signing 2 wingers for 1.5 mil in 2020 ?

I’ll take genuine rep stars at west’s tigers if their normal position is goal attack

I get it , but it’s how we got ourselves into this mess. It’s gotta be through the juniors . And I’mnot a paid employee , I couldn’t stand previous regimes , I just think we are moving in the right direction. It’s not happening quick enough for some I get it , but firing everyone very couple of years hasn’t worked so far , can we try 5 years of the same . See where this strategy of signing gun Juniors gets us ?

If I’m a gun junior I wanna play with a Teddy or a JAC or a Munster, I won’t hang around if I have to be the main man, there has to be a mix

Hopefully Adam Doueihi and Luke Brooks can do that for us .
Who wanted to play with gutho and Moses a few years back . It’s the rooster brigade we have to get rid of and usurp . Until that crew has lessened power we will struggle .

AD is a kid himself, he’ll be looking to leave unless we get him some quality experienced footballers to play with.

That’s not true . He’s a tigers junior who jumped at the chance to return to us especially with Madge as coach . The way he talks , the crying when we lose , says passion and love for the jersey and club . The kid with josh Aloai and Nofa are the 3 guys to build around . Good footballers who love the club , and play with heart .

I think we agree he’s great for the club and he’s someone to build around. Let’s see how much he wants to play finals if the rut continues

It won’t continue .thats what I think the fundamental difference is ,
Between us . I honestly think the talent is there , and I think we got the attack right this year , finally , only for us to put a couple of turnstyles next to each other in defence , a few key injuries in the middle , and we just leaked like crazy down that edge . If we put Blore Doueihi , BJ and Nofa next to each other , that’s much better . Especially if you have a McIntyre and Tamou sliding across to cover the middle .
As soon as a team cut back inside , and got benji and garner trying to tackle laterally , it was party time for the attacking teams .
As the year went on , every body picked it up . This combined with guys like Mika and Packer being slow to fill the gap .
That’s what needs to be fixed . We can buy all the speedy wingers we want , but get middles to come across and cover the under ball , and help with exposing edge players to 1 on 1 tackles .

Bit worried about Douehi defence as well, had a few misses in the centre’s and fullback, hope he focuses on this and Makes it a big part of his game

I actually think we pretty much agree. I just feel we need a couple of really quality NRL players to tip us over the edge, improve our pulling power and bring the young brigade along. Blore only really had a good 10 mins against Parra, hopefully a pre season will bring that out consistently.

Blore will be a star . He’s better than any of the fisher Harris’ of the world at the same age . He whacks people . You want to see raw aggression this kid has it spades. Not the dirty Brown type , borderline embarrassing stuff, but the Steve Matai I’ll just line you up and put you in row12 , and get up like nothing happened type aggression.

That confrontation with Brown was promising. My brother is a pamfer and was sad to see him go. I watched him closely one game and he just looked unfit. Hope you’re right and he is that weapon we need in the pack.

Bit worried about Douehi defence as well, had a few misses in the centre’s and fullback, hope he focuses on this and Makes it a big part of his game

To his credit, he was playing injured from early in the season and was usually in our top 3 to 4 players each week. He didn’t drop a bomb until about rd 12 - great player

I reckon he is a great player as well but his defense was terrible in the centres and at fullback at times. I just reckon he needs to work on it and he will get it right.

Still has to prove himself who knows how long that would take

Also apparently also barracks for pamfers

I think our pack improves next year. Stefano and Musgrove will add much needed impact off the bench. we should have a very dangerous back row pairing if Blore has a big preseason. Tamou will have one starting spot and Aloiai and Twal should build on what were good seasons this year. still missing a tearaway that will go to war with the opposition, but for the most part I think we're doing ok.
