Here is the difference between a genuine match winner and a good club player. I've written this before but it is worth reiterating the difference between a top line winger and those below.

In a game against Cronulla at Caltex Field we were down by a couple of points with only a couple of minutes remaining. During the game our left centre and winger which was Lawrence and Korobeite were dangerous the entire game. The ball switched to the right as Nofoaluma had a 60 metre sprint to the try line to win the game. He couldn't do it as he lacks genuine pace and was put over the sideline by Fifita. Korobeite or JAC would have strolled the 60 metres to score. That is the difference and until the Club learns to keep the match winners we will always struggle.

Whether you rate Nofa or not - he is not the player to move on especially atm. We seem to have developed a perception of treating players poorly. Nofa is one of the few that openly displays his allegiance to the club giving him the tap in hope to sign JAC would only add fuel to that school of thought. Is JAC a 67% better winger than Nofo ? It's debatable, but I'd say no.

Paying JAC overs because he may make a success at full back would be foolish (which apparently is what the Dogs are offering).

In any event, the way we truly strengthen our team is to have JAC on one wing and Nofo on the other. That's a nice balance. I don't see the point of weakening one wing in order to strengthen the other.

I was at the Horse and Jockey pub at Homebush yesterday, which is owned by Laundy the new major sponsor of the Bulldogs. Mr Laundy was there himself and my mate who is a bulldog supporter had a chat with him. He asked about JAC and Laundy said he is going to the Tigers.

In other news, my horses ran close seconds on 6 occasions yesterday and I ran out of money before the end of the day!

I'm a realist, Nofoaluma is a club level player. Do we want to improve or continue to fool ourselves.? We need better players. Nofoaluma has reached koala status in some sections. It is not a matter of liking or disliking him. He has received very good renumeration from the Club so it works both ways. The loyalty card is irrelevant when you are trying to improve.
