I’ve been told the deal is dead in the water. He will go back to the Storm and sign with the Rabbits in 2021.

No one to blame but management for that one. If we can’t land a big signing in 2022 we are screwed

Please explain how you come to that conclusion, with actual verifiable information.

He gave us a heads of agreement apparently, ready to come here all we needed to do was make a deal with Melbourne. We refuse, he stays at Melbourne or goes somewhere else and he never plays for us. It’s us that refused to play ball

We just did what the Storm and Roosters have been doing for years. Held our ground.

We offerer him the fullback spot. If hes not interested than so be it.

He was interested?!!!!! We couldn’t get the deal done? Roosters are ruthless they would’ve given Melbourne a rookie if they wanted JAC. Look what they did to Pearce and Flanagan

If he was interested he would have signed mate, simple.

Erm he needs a release champ. Pretty simple buddy. He can’t sign when he’s contracted ?

If Melbourne wanted Lucy or Doueihi, you'd let them go for a winger?

They want an outside back. I wouldn’t be against giving them Doueihi, it would be a massive upgrade.

You are blinded by the need for a Marquee player - unfortunately JAC is not Marquee.

He is just a fast winger - that how it's playing out, doesn't want to come here.

You've gone off your head if you would trade AD.

And you are blinded by your love your Tigers players, you’re the person who wouldn’t swap Liddle for Grant ?

Doueihi is a solid player I like him, JAC is 5 times the player he is right now. It’s simple really who makes our squad better and it’s an easy answer. If you think he’s just a fast winger then you clearly haven’t watched much of him the last two years.

I've watched plenty of him Josh - he is just a fast winger - improved over the past year yes but still not a Marquee player.
The term Marquee Player is used to describe a terrific player in our game, that the opposition fear may rip them to shreads, every time they pull on a boot. Players like Johns, Fittler, Turbo, Teddy, Munster, Smith etc.

Marquee is a word used far to often to describe a good player but much further levels down the list. Hell I've heard it used to describe Moses, Walker and even Pearce. It has almost lost the meaning of the word Marquee.

My love for the Tigers players stems from the fact that people like Liddle, Talau, AD and Noffo have signed with us in good faith to play for us, to bleed for us and are loyal to us. You on the other hand couldn't care less obviously, about any of that... "I want JAC and I don't care who I trade, what their hopes and dreams are, how that affects their lives....trade them, they mean nothing, they are just players that are expendable." (What is expendable Rambo), How sad!!!!

Can just see you coming back with..."loyalty means nothing these days," RL is a business. Probably, but maybe that is what is wrong with the game these days and in fact what is wrong with the world.

Maybe I am a dinosaur for thinking loyalty has a part in the 21st century... I prefer to hold a few of the old values that made RL "The Greatest Game of All" and made the world a good place to live in. That is my standard, I'm a loyal person, I will always (as well as to many other things) be loyal to the Tigers.

If you choose to be a Dorian Gray that is your choice..... enjoy the picture you are painting.

You think people don’t fear playing against JAC? He is one of the most dangerous players to play against in the world right now. He easily fits into the marquee category.

I can understand your feelings about loyalty but you answered it yourself, it’s all business nowadays. You got no where being loyal you win premierships by having the best players and coaches no matter what it takes. I want my club to win not just continue to play players big money for winning nothing

Hate to break it to you, half of our players would most likely leave if offered better money at a better club. Loyalty is dead not only with the clubs but with players themselves. They only have 10 years to play they need to make as much money as they can.

I won’t rubbish you for your opinion bevaude you’re right loyalty is an amazing thing, I wish it existed like it did back in the day where players stayed at their local clubs all their career. Sad fact is you just can’t afford to do that as a club nowadays at least not for everyone. Good to have a few loyal guys you need to treasure those guys but you gotta be ruthless in modern footy

Noffa has been loyal, but you are happy to let him go. You generate loyalty by showing it, if as a club we don't show it then we will have many more issues like the Matterson, Moses and Cleary situations.

I’m not happy to let Nofa go. That’s a trade I wouldn’t make, getting rid of one class winger for another isn’t worth it.

You don't believe the Club can produce another NRL winger? I believe we can and I have watched him.

I’m sure we could but my motivation for getting JAC is improving the team right now. Talau for JAC improves our team a lot right now, Nofa for JAC not so much.

Talau is a gem. A young hard running centre with a good turn of pace. Put a quick winger outside of him and we have a great combination.

Look at the comments on here and according to many 2021 will be a development year.

i still don't see the issue with loaning Noff for 1 year to Melbourne and sign JAC and Noff on a long term deal. I just wonder if the loan deal with impact the 10 year discount we get

Can’t understand not wanting to give them Talau especially now Josh is willing to stay at Melbourne for another season

Unless Talau becomes an Australian level player it will not be worth it. Maybe they think that highly of him at the club

Hey Josh
Don’t be sucker mate .... it’s a game game of bluff poker.
We don’t need to give them anything that we want/need to keep.

Melbourne will be quite happy to keep him another season, they get a top quality winger on the cheap it’s much better for them. They can hold out for a swap all season long if need be

Come 2022 the entire nrl will chase him and we will have no chance.

Then that's the way it plays out.

Then we miss out on yet another big signing due to our club being dumb. Not really on board with that one

Yeah we disagree on that. I don't believe in giving up a player to sign another.

Why not if it is going to strengthen the team

Because you don't get full value out of the player you are signing, we will be stronger on that wing but weaker somewhere else. So for full freight of what JAC is worth we get all his skill but we minus what Nofa brings to the team. We don't have a ready made replacement that brings what Nofa brings so we either find someone that matches him or we lose out in that position. Now overall we end up with a net gain, but is the net gain we achieve worth what we are paying JAC at full freight.

We have offered him what he is worth with a chance to earn more. He either comes or he doesn't.

We have offered him what we think he is worth to us .
Not necessarily what his worth is,and no I whould not trade nofo but I whould tommy

Tommy thanks you for trying to up route him from his family. I'm sure he appreciates it.

Russell I get it I’m not suggesting he get up route from his family. I’m only saying it’s a trade I whould have been happy with if and only if tommy wants to .
So please of the high horse on this one

Is it bad that I don’t see JT’s reign as totally terrible?

At the time I thought it was terrible because I think he created needless drama and that stuffed us. We also lost Tapau, Moses, Tedesco and Woods. We would be a better team with those 4 players but Tedesco is a top level player worth what he were going to pay him. The other guys weren't worth to us what other clubs were paying them. So although you could state we under performed and he stuffed our roster I still don't think it was as bad as Cleary.

Our cap was fine. If we just hadn't thrown money at a bunch of dud signings I think we'd be a lot better now.

I think we agree. In no way was he great for us, but he didn’t leave us decimated for years after his departure.

It’s an easy pass Mark at the tigers sometimes.

Loyalty works both ways. Nofoaluma has been well paid for what he has delivered prior to this year. Even this year, his attack has been great but his defence was not what you expect of an NRL winger. Defence wins games.

I guess you can't complain about how Matterson, Moses or Cleary left the club then.

I was disillusioned when Koroibete and JAC departed WTs.

It reads as though the Club has moved on.

I usually sit with a couple of mates watching the footy. Both support the Illawarra Dragons. It is interesting the differing views on players. But we all agreed Ryan Girdler, the Morris twins, Luke Patton, Koroibete and JAC all would be outstanding footballers.

Speaking of loyalty I don’t see Penrith getting dragged by the media for what they’re doing to Mansour. We got roasted for wanting to dump Packer and Reynolds, but Penrith want to dump a guy who’s played well and rejected a bigger offer to stay there, who’s not even on huge money and not a whisper from the journos.

Exactly right. Untouchables.

That young 5/8 for the Dragons from the Illawarra is going to be outstanding. I'm shocked Johns hasn't given him the once in a lifetime tag (yet)!

They don't want a year loan - they want a SWAP - that means it is permanent, we don't get the player back.

**+** paying top dollar. That is not a good deal, it is stupidity tig.
