so if he is staying at storm for one more year, why has he not signed our contract for 2022?? There is nothing stopping him right now surely if 2021 is off the table....surely a busted toe can't stop him signing it??

Just the question I would be asking if I was pascoe and Lee

Now the real questions start.......

Does @mike stop his count?

The article did say if he gets released he will come here 😂 I think it can be postponed for the time being though

@THE_POM we’re all dying for an update mate, you have anything? Will the Tigers have another crack at luring JAC or is it all over?

Getting to the desperation stage now.

Offer 4 years at $700k
I know it's alot but will he really forego $200k to stay in Melbourne?

And why can't we offer him something meaningful outside of footy?

Set up an indigenous youth/pathway program for remote areas. He could be the face of if and do clinic visits etc.

Challenge him with more than just $$$.
Show him we want him for more than just his on field ability.

I'm sure the program would have an opening or 2 for his dad/cousin/ family members??

that article says his only honoring HOA if he gets released n 2021, by the time 2022 comes around (if this article is true), he'll probably go to another club.

I would've thought the lure of helping his family would be the thing that doesn't have a price....clearly I was wrong because that was his premise the whole time. But hey what's one more year??

A bit of damage control happening for JAC. Melbourne looking after him - and pretty sure they are more than happy to keep for another year sore toe and all.

Some one tell Pascoe that his mate mansour is not what we need. If we sign him. Pascoe has to go we are not a retirement home for ex panther mates

Can't wait to see the response to you telling Pascoe he needs to go for a move he hasn't made yet.

So what was the point of even holding the meeting? Sounds like they left a bit out.

I would bet that at the meeting, JAC's manager brought up JAC wanting out of the HoA, to which we replied no chance, it is legally binding. If JAC leaves Storm this year, he's coming to WT or no-one. They didn't like that, so said that instead JAC will stay in Melbourne another year.

Really poor from JAC, wanting to leave Storm so he could be with family, he waits a whole year (unlike any other player in NRL history thusfar) and now is content to wait another year. And why? Because he doesn't want to come to us. So the whole being with family thing wasn't that important hey. The rest of the rugby league fraternity won't really care, but this guy is now irrelevant to me.

I don't bet money, but if I could bet money right now on him going to Souths in 2022 I would seriously consider it.

Think it’s fairly obvious we will but what’s the likelihood he picks us in 2022 when though we will have a lot of money, are we gonna be able to deliver the results

They're a bloody strong club from the office down. WT should learn massively from them.

now it does sorta feel like a signing to please the fans....bit misguided on that one. This is where we do the panthers a favour by taking him off their hands, but pay his full salary instead of squeezing the pennies for everything we can

Not confident at all.. wouldn't be surprised if Roosters joins the race..

Josh Addo-Carr set to remain at Melbourne Storm in 2021
By Michael Chammas
November 12, 2020 — 4.55pm

Josh Addo-Carr is set to remain at Melbourne in 2021 after his manager met with the Wests Tigers on Thursday afternoon and outlined a preference for the winger to remain at the Storm next season.

It’s understood Addo-Carr has vowed to honour the heads of agreement he signed with the Wests Tigers to join the club in 2021 if he is released from the Storm, however it appears he won’t be departing the premiers just yet.

With Cameron Smith expected to hang up the boots, the Melbourne Storm may be in a position to use some of the money they had in reserve to bump up Addo-Carr’s $375,000 salary in 2021.

It’s expected the Storm will increase Addo-Carr’s deal to about $500,000, still short of the $550,000-$600,000 the Tigers were willing to pay him each season of the four year deal they posed.

Addo-Carr is off contract with the Storm after next season, with the Tigers likely to turn their attention to securing his services in 2022 following the indication that he is likely to remain at Melbourne.

More to come

If true, family really isn’t that important then and credibility broken.

They were bad signings from the start though. None were current internationals, and best players on the ground in an origin game.

I understand we are all scarred by the last big contracts handed out. Big contracts can work, if you identify the right players.

To be straight up, untill ThePOM leaves his comment on this id take the media stories with a grain of salt 🤷‍♂️
