The dogs have been quite aggressive and have recruited well. I think theyve made the gf twice in the last ten years so i can see them being more attractive as a club than us.

Nick Cotric, Kyle Flanagan, Jack Hetherington, Corey Waddell, Josh Addo-Carr, Malakai Watene-Zeleniak and they are still after Stephen Crichton and Spencer Leniu .. !!
Plus they just upgraded contracts to Adam Elliott, Josh Jackson, Dylan Napa, Lachlan Lewis, Will Hopoate, Raymond Faitala-Mariner and Nick Meaney.
But can you believe they are paying Nick Cotric 650K a year, and the Fox only 550K a year .. !!
Well.. to be fair:
Kyle Flanagan was snapped up cheap, roughly 300-350K
Jack Hetherington 400-450? Was on development or starting cash at the Panthers
Corey Waddell was on the outer at Manly
Nic Cotric was 600K to play centre from my understanding?
Josh Jackson would be on the 10 year service pay 150K plus whatever else
Nick Meany wouldn't be on much.
People on the outer at the Bulldogs would be Lachlan Lewis and Will Hoppa IMO, wouldn't surprise me these two leave.
I’d take Lachlan Lewis to run around for the magpies , at the bottom of the half depth chart . At the very least if he had to come in , he wouldn’t lose us a match . But still , no more than a few games , to fill in . This is the type of guy , we should be looking at in regards to fillling a half void . Not guys like Widdop who we’d feel obliged to play , because of what they did 5 years ago.

No, 2 million over 4 years is 500k per year - 650k to Cotric, now I don't think much of Addo-Carr's brain power but he is not totally stupid. Maybe the Dogs think everyone else is.
Third party has kicked the tin big time, or the brown paper bags are out - why is this not cause for the NRL to check the books.
The Dogs have done it before.
Whilst they are at it they should be opening the books at Souffs with Latrine taking 600k over our one mill and a number of other dubious deals.
C'mon Mr Vlandys, if we can smell it - I'm sure you can. Let's get serious if you want to clean it up.

The RLPA strongly disagree. Doing it would have its positives and negatives, the players themselves will cop a lot more abuse off fans, but it would be nice as a paying member to see how the club uses its salary cap so I can see if they’re making dumb decisions or not

It's usually more like the $7.5m Tigers

Who cares if players cop more abuse from fans .. they are payed to entertain the fans .
The way it is now with all the speculation doesn’t work .
Transparency is the answer .

All the articles say something along the lines of 'a deal reportedly ***worth more*** than $2m'. I think the poster who said it was close to $3m is on the money. There is no way he goes to the Bulldogs on less money than what Cotric makes.
It's like me saying to my missus that the new BBQ I bought was just over $1000, when in reality it was $1999.

Unfortunately some idiots take it way take it too far. Death threats, abusing players family etc. I’d like to know more about the cap but can understand why the players don’t want it public.

Players don’t want it because they know they’re involved in a rort !
If a player is happy to make a motza and be in the limelight they should also understand what the cons are ..
If they can’t handle some flack then they need to find another line of work .

No one deserves death threats to them and their family just because they get paid good and play footy.
Even just a breakdown of the salary cap without showing players names would be better than what we’ve got now though. Like shows what the 30 players are on but doesn’t name them

100% agree Hobbo, apart from easts and souths fans, and maybe the dogs now, every other fan would be all for it

Happens all the time! Esan Marsters copped it when he missed a goal to lose us a game. You’d be surprised at the terrible things fans say to players and families. Making their salaries public just adds to that.
As a fan that doesn’t do that crap I would like to know a breakdown of the salary cap and who’s getting paid what - I can just understand players being hesitant to agree to that.
