Jackson Hastings #251

Blah, blah, blah…
Hastings couldn’t even play 7 in England, played severss as l positions! What does that tell you?? Even in a mickey mouse competition he still couldn’t crack the 7 regularly.
Only thing Hastings was consistent at was rubbing people up the wrong way, we know about Australian issues and then we find out about Bateman! Sounds like a prickly fellow…
You should have stopped at blah blah blah

7 clubs in 11 years for Hastings, the guy is prickly and probably not captain material
I never said he was captain material...he showed leadership in the 1 season with us,something Brooks hasnt shown in 10 years..who cares how many clubs he has played for,he got man of steel award in ESL and helped teams play in finals, something else Brooks hasnt done.Football is a short career make the best of it while you can...on another note.LOYALTY gets you no where in a cutthroat competition,Luke has been blessed over many years..Teddy got out,Moses got out and showing no loyalty got them better careers...

Maybe Brooksy’s final chapters here will be different mate. I hope for his sake and ours he leaves the club having taken the once basket case club back to some meaningful games.

I dont really like this swap.
Yes, Klem is as hood a prop as Hastings is a half, an through that prism its ok.

But, you dont trade out good, organisational halves.

You stand in front of them, you stroke their hair, you kiss them, and look into their eyes and whisper in their ear 'everything will be alright uleh'.

You dont trade them out. They are rare.

And if we are in the business of swapping out halves, wtf happened to the Brooks idea? Why is he being kept? That was the original plan.

If it is because of Bateman, sure, but if not then we ###### up. Its not that hard to find a running half or whatever Adam Leb is (He feels to me like a 2nd rower in the halves) but the Chad Townsend/Cleary organisers are few and far between and Hastings was on that level and he won us matches this year.

If it is because of Bateman, sure, but if not then we f*cked up. I sort of agree with LCA.
The priority for our rebuild had to start with forwards and if it's a straight Klem/Jacko trade and we keep brooks and AD then I'm happy with it but what exactly is the $ turnaround? It's a bit vague at this stage isn't it?

Doueihi has intentionally or unintentionally put himself in the transit lounge. Sheens would well know whether he is a 5/8 (or not). It is interesting the two players the posse all promoted as leaders baled or are in the process of doing so. The real leader(s) will emerge shortly.

The real leaders may emerge shortly......Brooks wont be one of them although Sheens has a fixation for him,Api,Paps and Klemmer will be the main hopes...

TT, young Pole reeks of leadership qualities. Remember in the game against the Eels when he lead the resurgence? Ofahengaue always gets the job done with the minimum of fuss.
Absolutely correct Paws,Pole may just get better with better players around him next year,Offa has always been an honest worker...Our success will come from a strong pack next year and getting the younger talent some NRL time....

The more I look at the JH to Knights decision, the more I see MM on the horizon.
Maybe Sheens and Co believe he could be the key to Brooks re-emerging.

I think sheens doesn’t see either of them as part of his long term vision. They weren’t his signings. They wouldn’t have been easily influenced. Good players or not, if they leave so be it. He even potentially used a Hastings trade to his advantage. Both players being played outside of their preferred positions too…
