I’m going to get slaughtered here for saying this but a few things I noticed in that clip and that try.

Firstly the opportunity set up by Jennings but fantastic vision and skill from Hastings to ice it.

Secondly, every one of his teammates wiped him and ignored him in the try celebration. He ends up walking off by himself whilst the rest celebrated

I just saw him interviewed on Ch 9, he was stating that he is still an individual and doesn't have a lot of friends but that is the type of person he is. Pretty interesting little interview.

Yeah saw the same. Didn’t know his dad was a bit of a deadbeat

Imagine everyone telling you how you only got here because of nepotism, and you’re overrated , knowing the only thing your dad ever gave you was a 50 dollar JBHIFI voucher on your birthday once a year .
I imagine you’d have a fair chip on your shoulder.
Plus he alienated himself at manly with Cherry Evans . Who doesn’t strike me as the “my problem is my problem “ type . He looks like he doesn’t mind a cliq.
I’d say it was a case of the 2 Spider-Man’s pointing at each other . Only one Spider-Man had no equity built up within the playing group , by winning a premiership .

Yeah can be difficult in team environments, just needs to find another way to connect with playing group.

Fluff pieces aside, I actually really like him. I know it’s a lower competition but he’s been very good in super league and isn’t timid. Hope he succeeds

I honestly hope he comes in a just rips teams apart and shows what talent he has got I doubt it will happen but I just genuinely hope he can make it and is welcomed with open arms

For me his coming back for the right reason and wants to prove himself.. He could easily stayed over there where he is clearly loved and got paid very well.. I just love how he talks on the field and is always moving the team around. Fingers crossed he is a massive success.

He may have been playing in a lower level competition but I think that playing against NRL level players will see him start to compete at that level.. Playing against the best brings out the best in real competitors.

Damn he has a sad story. Having a dead beat dad can mess your life up. Almost all of the kids I knew who were a little off the rails had useless fathers.

That's true.

Interesting his personality is at odd with the position he plays the game.
I hope this doesn't hinder him

It is going to be an interesting off season and start to the season .. Brooks for the first time has a player more than capable of taking his spot from him immediately.

oh poor brooks, we should spend another 5 years building a team that works for him, so he can walk around silently putting up terrible mid field bombs straight down the fullbacks throat.
he is a halfback and needs to grow a voice or get out of the 7 jersey

Usually I'd agree but I think he is embarrassed of his past and knows people might have this pre convenienced idea about him so's trying hard to tell people he's a new man.

I feel it takes a real hard honest look at yourself in the mirror to admit the failings he's had in life prior to now. None of what he has come out and said would be naturally easy for anyone to say especially an introvert whos battled mental demons. Massive respect to him for peeling back the layers of mental protection and giving everyone a look inside his life.

Refreshing to see a half who can speak to the media as well without sounding like a 7 who can't break through his own testamonial banner. His voice will be a welcome addition onfield and hopefully he continues to grow off the field too.

I’m giving this guy plenty of time to settle in , get to training with his new team mates and play for us , I hope he goes really well and I also hope it does pressure brooks and gets him to lift , Hastings 7 Brooks 6. Hastings runs the team , Brooks plays live and unpredictable , Brooks has the speed to do this , no pressure player
