Hope brooks on 900 wrong


I've seen multiple reports over the last few days, varying from 550-600k at some outlets to 800-900k at Fox and SMH. If I remember from the deal at the time it was closer to the 600k end of the scale.

His last contract was $550K. After winning Dally M Halfback of the year and club player of the year the following year, you'd think his contract would have gone up significantly. I was shutdown for saying it was $900K here ages ago. That was what was reported back in 2019.

I like Hastings as a player,if he did come I could see him struggling with the pace of the game to start with,a big challenge for him to come back to the NRL,and an even bigger risk by the tigers,0-2 and the way Brooks is playing what do they have to lose?

I think its a deflection so the media don't jump on Brooks in the meantime and if he comes and Brooks is still not performing he comes into the 7. Smart move as his confidence is down as it is

That is not really the decision of the Wests Tigers though.

Most of the reports I've seen say brooks is on give or take a 600k a year deal. If he's getting paid 1.8mil for the next 2 seasons his contract must have been heavily backended to give the team some more cap space.

This may be seen as a slap in the face for Brooks but I remember a Wests Magpie coach stirring up his players by getting them to slap each other's faces just before they ran onto the field. Worked a treat and it may very well work for Brooks.
