Jacob Liddle - Mega Thread

Api and Rua are signed for Next year...
As is Simpkin
And you'd imagine Nu Brown would be now also....

There's 3 replacements already signed, Api and Rua probably more upside...
Nu doing just as good a job, And Simpkin could be judged either way.
That's 4 replacements - 3 Already signed for 23-24

So we're freeing up a spot for another position...

And that - Is a very good thing...
We don't need 5 Hookers... We're freeing up a spot for another position
hopefully one we're lacking....

Also, When Liddle was signed - He was to be our starting Hooker
I'd be surprised if he's on less than 400k - Buying the likes of Papalli and Api for 600k makes this very, very good business.

Api and papi were signed last year, since then Naden who was also signed when Madge was coach is about it.A lot more needs to be done and announced quickly or a roster that was mediocre this year will be completely threadbare for 2023

What's that got to do with releasing a 5th hooker from the squad for next year to sign someone in a position we're short in....

Back Rowers for example....

Only is you have somebody lined up to replace him at the moment i am still waiting for our first signing
We had too many hookers on the books as it is (Api, Simpkins, Rua, with Brown likely for some kind of deal ahead of Liddle too). Regardless of who we go with for the spot, it should balance out the squad more.

People complain we have the worst roster in the comp and then complain when we release players from that roster

Or bang on they'll drive said player to the airport because he's so bad...
Pay his wages to play elsewhere..

We get rid of said player and they invent a problem with it.

Move as expected with Api joining, Simpkin still contracted for 2 years, Nu Brown likely retained on a base deal, Rua joining the top 30, Tannous impressing in Flegg and Da Silva eyed as the long term #9.

75 NRL games for Liddle since debuting in 2016.

Won’t ever forget him carrying an injury ravaged Holden Cup side on his shoulders in a semi final in NQ. Had near 200 running metres from dummy half.

Always a level above in 20s and NSW Cup as a runner.

Turning 27 next year and hope he can develop his passing game and have a good solid run of games without injury.

Ruptured ACL/PCL/LCL when he was set to take over from Farah really hurt his chances of securing the 9 at the club.

Great resilience to overcome injuries. GL, Jake

Thanks for everything Jacob.

No need to discuss the negatives or positives.

Our priority is strengthening our roster and hopefully this allow us a roster position and some more funds to do so.

What a clean out.
2022 turn over has been something.
Onward and upward.

Thanks for all your efforts to try after many injuries to be part of the tigers , give you 100% for effort and when you did play you had a good go , good luck to your future Jacob
thank you
