Jahream Bula #269

I don't think it is at all disruptive to the team. Perhaps it will be but surely not yet. One, it's not in the media enough to be a distraction. Two, players move on every year. Players are used to it so one more bloke changing clubs should hardly be a distraction.
Galvin not disruptive? We must have been fed BS why we couldn't win games.
Maybe or maybe not disruptive, but the never-ending storey is becoming tiresome.
He can be replaced for half the cost in a years' time and no drama from Issuc Moses.

The biggest threat to WT is not HBG, it's Issac Moses....he hates Benji with a passion and the feeling is mutual...all WT players, current and future, under Issac Moses we can kiss goodbye at some point....sad thing is the players choose to live off every word of his......

So a bloke with 2 contracted players at the tigers is a bigger threat than the owners who set the direction of the clubs future?

Was not aware you were going back to 2018...im referencing tpa's you hear about every now and then, most tend to be marquee player top ups. Yes you are correct and storm/broncs would be on top, however the dolphins could have diluted the broncs tpa's. Would be difficult to really quantify the numbers, esp when you throw in non-cash deals.
Unfortunately the NRL hasn't released any figures since 2018, so no up to date figures to refer to. Agree it would be difficult to quantify and we don't know how much growth there has been in such payments. I just think using the only time figures were made public as a guide, the claims of X,Y,Z clubs having endless TPAs highly unlikely.

The Bula story is not equal to the Galvin story. One has a players management come out and publicly criticise the coach the other a player simply hasn't decided where he will be next year. One was mid-season, the other the season is yet to start. One was arguably the biggest NRL story in the media for a month. The other has barely rated a mention outside of this forum.
So I don't think mentioning Galvin is relevant to the current conversation though I would say Galvin was disruptive I would equally say it is BS to claim it is why the side couldn't win games.
I'm sure to you and many fans this is becoming tiresome but I don't believe it is currently, in any way, disruptive to the playing group.

Does that mean Attard will never be top of the pecking order IYO?
I don't think he'll reach Bula's level and I think Brookes will leapfrog him. He has the skills and speed, and the attitude, but his physique may hold him back. I'm not saying he won't make it, it's just there's others in front of him. I think Bula will break out this season. With better organisation in the halves and some serious options out wide, he should run amok.

If you want to play finals you don’t keep revolving your best players for kids.

Like cmon people.

Attard and Brookes are miles off from where Bula is, they need a few years to develop and maybe get an opportunity at NRL.

If Bula leaves it easily sets us back years.
Finally some common sense on this thread

The amount of people who are 'fine' with Bula leaving because a kid looked solid in a reserve grade trial is nuts

We are a much better team with Bula in it. Everyone getting excited over potential when we've already got a talented fullback.

Most people just upset he's a Moses client me thinks

Godinet next Moses client to go
not sure if bula goes, gut feel he will be at belmore

If Bula leaves just like the little shit Galvin , I think we need to sign , Bevan French to play fullback , has great pace , and is always looking for the ball , would be just as good as bula or even better , and would be a lot cheaper

That’s literally what people have said mate . It bula walks , fine , renew him for 2027. And invest heavily in Attard and Brookes for those 2 years .
Theoretically it’s what the tigers did when they signed Wade McKinnon whilst trying to get Tedesco ready for nrl . If the dogs want him , they can have him for 2028 .
BTW I want to keep Bula , I’m just saying it’s for once not wrist cutting scenes if he does walk . We definitely have the talent .

disappointing if he goes but not the end of the world, not like losing tedesco was

To be fair now in hindsight , I don’t think Teddy really wanted to spend his career wearing a tigers jersey . No matter how good we were going . I’m not sure he wouldn’t have left anyway . Much like Payne Hass and the Broncos . It seemed inevitable he was gonna leave .
You can call it disloyal , but it really depends on whether your loyalties align with theirs .
And I honestly never felt Teddy aligned himself to the tigers . More Robbie and Benji , and the boys club. Once they got torn down , and you’re actually left with The club itself , yea … it was only a matter of time I think .
