OFFICIAL Jahream Bula #269

yup fair call

His injury is an opportunity in next man up mentality.
And if he’s already eyeing an exit, that just accelerates a decision I feel we should be making anyway.

Contenders have fullbacks who influence games week in, week out and if we really want to compete at the pointy end of the season, then that’s the only standard we should be settling for.

I thinkBula is overhyped and so I genuinely don’t think his injury absence hurts us. The contrary, it might actually help us.

When was the last time our bloke stopped a try.
Also a horrible defender, but to be fair almost every fullback is these days.
The trick is to offset that with the ability to create tries out of nothing. Bula's one of the very few that can't do that.
Right off the top of my head, the last game. Held a player up over the line iiirc.

Done it a few times.

Bula flick pass to Doueihi, backs up, scores the try against broncos.

Try from nothing 10m out against knights, try assists same game.

Had the ball 3 times on a single play, the end of which was him scoring from the KPP offload....

I'll go easy... After all, you must be getting on in years - I remember watching you when I was a toddler!

Melbourne's defence has never been worse with Falongo at FB and ours has been better than ever with with Bula at FB. I think there is more to Full back in organising defensive lines than singling them out for individual defensive errors. Teddy is about the best - at everything.
