Jamal Idris joins Wests Tigers...Official...

Great signing. If he can get fit and work on his pace he will be unstoppable like Leilua is at Canberra. Whoever is outside him will score some try's in 2017.

Let's get Paul Vaughan, Sam Moa or Kane Evans and we will be a massive chance next year.

Initially i was very much against this signing but after i listened to his interview on sterlo i changed my mind.If it is true a hard running center with a big body is one of the players we need badly need he shouldnt be costing us much and should be a massive improvement on kev

This is a risk worth taking.

If he gets himself fit and firing (big if with Jamal) we could be looking at a gun strike centre.

A step in the right direction for our club and another sign things are slowly turning around. I'm sure he'd have had more attractive clubs sniffing around, so to come to us gives me a bit of confidence we can attract other quality players, and retain our young guns.

Idris plays on the right, so that should solve the issues on the right hand side with Kev most likely shifting to the wing.

Idris and Noffa have the potential to be BJ/Rapana 2.0.

I think this is a good signing. Only one year for once, a prudent contract. Hope he goes well after his time away from the game. Could have been exactly what he needed.

All signings come with some risk - Jamal's is predominantly greater than most.
Best of luck to him hope he gets it together this time.

Agree. I think Idris will go well next year. Paul Vaughn would have been good too, bit surprised he's going to the Dragons but I guess they have more cash..

Well that's the Centre we have been asking for
Now for a hard running back rower in the mould of Mr Garath Ellis
A good Winger
And a backup for brooks and Mosses, Todd Carney anyone

A BIG no thanks from me - he can go play for Urinals United.

Why, he is a low cost gamble, one we need to take, as centre is a week point, Sterlo interviewed him a couple of weeks back and he looked fit. Said he was 110kg, 10kg lighter than when he left Penrith, say's he now realises he may not get another shot at NRL, and if he did he would be ready to go.
I see no down side to this, he is big, reasonably fast and plays a position we need covering, I think we will all be applauding this decision come round 3 or 4 next year, and there will be calls to sign him up before the poachers come knocking.
Welcome aboard big Jammer, hope you kill it.

You do realise I was talking about Carney - don't you?

Jeez. If we have defensive problems now, wait until the speedsters start beating 'Queen Mary' Jamal on the outside with the winger having to cover. Idris has been a defensive problem everywhere he has played.

A risk worth taking …. If he happened to return somewhere near his best, and it's a big if at that, then next year could be better than some of us think.

Doesn't he play on the left?

Just the kind of personality player that us fans love. Great signing on all counts…. hope he gets a start

He is a personality player in the same mould as Tuiaki. Enjoy the Wests Tigers Jamal.

He could well play on the wing where he would be a great attacking asset.

Are you serious about playing him on the wing???
