Jamal Idris out for the season

Be worth giving him another year on reasonable coin. He was getting better every time I saw him play. If Cleary can get anywhere hear the best out of a fit Idris next year, we will have a real weapon,

Two crosses now for low percentage signings.
Ballin - risky signing that didn't pay off
Idris - another risky signing

The sad thing is that they take up critical salary cap space and top 25 squad positions.

High risk, low reward

Jamal on 200k + match fee of 5k for every NRL game played. So 220k or so? how many games did he play about 4?

Exceptionally bad luck for the big fella, I was looking forward to him being back opposite Suli. It was a risk signing him, and a risk I think is worth persisting with. Good character, good role model and good for media, if he can sort his body out he'll be great on the field. Shouldn't be too hard to retain as I don't think other teams would be looking at him.

Wasnt an article just released this morning saying how he was fit and healthly and ready to play? Did he do this injury ar training or did the article lie? Horrible news either way, Feel for the big Fella.

The raring to go article was yesterday along with the Indigenous Jersey promotion..Jamal suffered the injury today at training so not a lie…just terrible luck...

Feel for the big fella...One door closes another opens for someone else ..hopefully Marsters...

This is terrible news, I was really looking forward to seeing the big fella get some much needed match fitness again and firming up our defence out wide. It doesn't put him in a good stead for securing a contract for next season but I hope the Tigers consider him as a depth signing.

I was enjoying watching him improve each week with more game time. Feel for the guy.

Will be interesting to see whether he can find the motivation to come back again. I would only offer him a base level contract for next year.
What chance that if we do not re-sign him there will be some media report around the lack of support and the club abandoning him

Wow didn't expect this to happen at all, I thought he'd make it halfway through the season at least.

Feel sorry for him but you didn't have to be Nostradamus to see it coming, as soon as he signed I remember txting my Doggies mate and telling him he'll be lucky to last 6 games.

Tigers need to put a lid on this type of signing in the future, I know they're usually a small investment but we still aren't getting our money's worth out of these deals. Our rehab team have got something to do I suppose.

He genuinely seems to have gotten stuck in over the summer and seemed to be in a really good space. Feel for the guy.

Sorry for him for the injury.
Most of us don't want to see someone go out with a bad injury like that But I'm glad he won't be anywhere near the team .
He's one of the slowest players in the league ( if not THE slowest) and has little lateral movement in defence. Sorry to see him injured, but part of the mediocracy that we have to change.

That's a real shame for him , he was getting better and his defence was starting to look good, I would keep him as he showed he was having a go and I think he deserves another shot
