He wouldn't handle league anyway so no thanks.

He wasnt emotionally mature enough to match his footy ability.

He played for QLD in 15's schoolboys league and was a superstar, 2 years later he was a wallaby, he could handle NRL on his ear.

Unfortunately off field he has turned into a twat. But it is not all his fault.

You obviously know a fair bit about his career thus far Goose. But IMO O'Connor is a grown man so if he is a twat off the field then it is absolutely 100% all his fault, can't blame anyone else once you reach that age.

I get your point, we are all responsible for our actions, so no excuses for being a tool.
we are also a product of our environment, the ARU let these prodigies down. There were 3 kids Beale, Quade and O'Conner who were very talented, they came through together, they fast tracked them, pumped their tires and basically turned them into tools.
O'Conner and Kurtley were terrific well mannered boys, even as it happened it seemed obvious what would happen. Very disappointing if you ask me.
It happens in league as well, but the rugby method of loads of resources chucked at the chosen few leads to spoilt brats.

Not even worth it's own thread. The guys trouble and France or Japan is his best option.

Can only name a few players from rugby union who converted into great rugby league players, Ben Kennedy, Ray Price, Scott Gouley, Wally Lewis and Ricky Stuart.

Duds like Sam Harris, Garwick Morgan and Brett Papworth (had one of the worse tackling techniques I have ever seen. Do not lead with your jaw onto someone knees).

Everyone is going old school, how about Cronk, RTS, and Simon Mannering. Luke Keary played both, but made his name in rugby.
Craig Innes, Matt Ridge and Andrew Leeds all handy.to very good.
Jonathon Davies.
Millions of them.

Arthur Summons is on the trophy and is a union man ☺

The trophy eavh year between Penrith and Gordon is callef the Schaaf Summons shield

Geoff Richardson was a duel International

I reckon at least 1 out of every 4 rugby league players has dabbled in Union at some stage

It can have some good benefits and help your league game , especially your kicking game and playing smart

Yards are hard earned in union , you don't want to give them away with a dumb kick or low percentage play

I dunno, hard to blame other people for you being a twat. Maybe for being a twat for a little while, but he's 25 not 15.

Mate do some research before you post,
Does the name Michael O'Connor ring a bell what about Russell Fairfax.

Looking at the 2015 World Cup, there are plenty of players that have the potential to make the NRL. The trick would be how long are they prepared to send in transition period..some will be fast tracked too early. Others might become superstars then use the League/Union rivalry to jump codes/clubs at will.

At least he got the first part right. Yes some union players have done well in league, but this kid's certainly not worth the trouble. Does anyone really want to spend a million bucks on a spoilt brat Bieber wannabe? [/close thread].
