I disagree. It’s a shame that he’s despised so much for his defence that people can’t actually see how good he is close to the line with the ball in hand.

Agreed. Not the best finisher, but far better then Lote Tiquiri.
Tukali was an amazing player and if he was still well would have easily eclipsed Nofo.
Pat Richards, Koroibete, IMHO are better finishers. But that goes to the standard of Wingers we have had. I think we probably have had some of the best Fullbacks and Wingers in the comp play for us. (with the fullbacks leaving us).

Nofa, has something to offer. He gets over the line, which is such a key skill. Of course his defense needs a lot of work and the fact that he never really sync'd with a center indicates that we should consider getting rid of him.

That said, Nofa is on a 5 year, 500k contract. We have newly signed it, so our choice is Nofa or heavily loading him to another club for 4 years! Were stuck with Nofa. That choice was made last year.

Yeah i mean he really should be tackling all 3 opposition players he is left defending because Luch and Douehi consistently took absolutely no one

He's been doing the same thing for 9 years - long before those two were playing inside him.

He’s actually a good defender ie. strong , good lateral movement etc. his issue is he goes for the glory play , and rarely plays the percentages . It’s a bit indicative of his personality if you think about it , he’s always struck me as a mug lair .
Whereas the Morris boys , always seemed to play the percentages, as an example . They’re no frills defence. Just wait for the attacking team to stuff up. Nofa seems to want to force the issue , shooting in , intercepts etc.
It would be hard to coach I reckon . You want that [censored]y confidence, in fact you need it, but it’s the same thing that leads to hero plays .

Josh Morris was well known in Attack and defense. 100% class player and underrated. Had we got the Morris twins (even loosing Corey Thompson or whomever then) we would have been making the finals.

Agree. I don’t think we even have a solid starting backline let alone depth. Centre is a big weak area

I’m not sold on that at all.
There’s lots of backline players but how many are good enough?
We could spend the year replacing out of form players with blokes who aren’t up to first grade.

I mite be crazy but I was telling a ex sharks player that if Cory Thomson was 8cm to 10cm
Taller he would be a top 3 Fullback and be close to Tommy Turbo in the way he would take teams apart

Yeah know what u mean, no big names there but could be a few suprised packets there. Kepoa was good there last year, staford has upside. Plus Roberts, the young qld bloke, and the POM could do a job. Plus AD to come back. No BJ looking good

For him to maintain/earn his spot he needs to be solid in defence. He never has been, so hard to see him learning now. Give one of the younger guys a shot. Keep the jet for depth

He was disappointing last year but one thing I have noticed is he looks to be a lot leaner in the pre-season training photos. Hopefully it’s because he’s applying himself more at training.

I agree with everyone here though, he needs to drastically improve his defence and stop arm grabbing.
