OFFICIAL James Tamou [Discussion]

as much as Woodsy deserves a spot in the blues side, NSW are reknown for ignoring wests. Woods as most you guys know has been the best prop in the game for 2 years and from one bad game they dismissed giving him a jersey. what about after winning the grand final. how many tigers made origin… from memory we would have to be one of the only sides to win an GF and get bugger all origin spots. could they say 'too young' .. my answer would be what about penrith? they did the same thing, shocked everyone by winning the GF with a young side and were givien origin jerseys.
and lets not forget 2010 and 2011 when the tigers were on fire. Granted Galloway was injured but what about lawrence, farah, moltzen, fifita , ryan and heighto.... Heighto had to pla for england just to get rep football, fifita gets a chance in the nsw love child which is cronulla and farah got it after fighting tooth and nail for it, not to mention ennis was terrible.

oh and they may add 'well wests arent doing well this year'... ok so then justify this... last year 3 quarters of your side consisted of players outside the top eight. - hayne, grant, jennings, lewis, b morris, merrin, pearce were all from teams who sat on the bottom of the table.

this year im hoping nsw wins for farah but nothing more. im over their selection as its amateur at best. i also feel sorry for souths.

im hope for woods he gets a crack at it but dont hold your breath wests fans...

Its all going downhill for NSW. First Dugan might be the FB, now Tamou is in trouble. To top it all off they will be heading to one of the most hostile atmospheres of all time.

What do you mean hostile atmosphere ??

We don't have cans to throw at your mob anymore and Barry Gommersall died unfortunately

We treat NSW with kids gloves these days :smiling_imp:

You mean like in Game 3 2009?

I've seen far worse Yoss

Ask Daryl Brohman and his jaw

Well Les Boyd was a player not a member of the crowd.

Woods is a machine, but the conspiracy theorist inside me thinks that the refs will target him for piggy back penalties to square up the series (this isn't a nsw-queensland thing, more so a reflection of tv ratings and the NRL as a business). And if this happens watch as Big nose Daly will disassociate him and Woods ends up like Farah in 09…

That, or Woods will go very very well

We all know how Aaron deserves that spot & if he does get it, he won't let his teammates or the State down .
Just hope they then keep him for SOO3

Rumours that despite daley ensuring he would be there, josh reynolds might be overlooked for game 2\. Whilst i love reynolds it would be probably be for the best and with grant injured for mine it would come down too Wade Graham, Tariq Sims and Aaron Woods. If they go for impact on the bench i think woods will miss out, with tamou potentially being stood down for origin THEN woods has a chance. I just feel like if they remove reynolds they will look for a similarly niggling, tough, mobile, aggressive player but in the forwards - woods is a metre eater but he rarely bends the line back. A fantastic player but i can see them over looking him yet again

with tamou out they cannot go in with only 2 props (merrin and fifita), the only real option is woods the youtuhful nature of the side of game one got them over the line no need to go with an old like mason but wouldnt be surprised if thats what daley goes with but really they shouldnt. is there anyone else who can take the spot mannah shouldn't be considered nor should snowden or douglas

Timmy Mannah is like our Robbie, Playing well in a very bad team at present.

Fifita to start and Woods should debut off the bench.

Tim Grant did a good job last year but I think he may be injured.

Outside Woods, it could only be Mannah. I suspect we'll be missing young Aaron. Good luck to him.

Hopefully Woodsy has done enough by now (which he has already 10 fold) because the squad will be named Sunday evening, right? Which means before he runs out against

Tamou had to be dropped , his actions lacked maturity so he needed this kick up the butt.

NSWRL did the right thing and Tamou has only himself to blame , footballers are not above the law.

So my guess was Tamou to go , set an example to the juniors that a NSW guernsey should be a reward for hard work and being a model citizen. Tamou will never ever take a NSWRL blue guernsey for granted again , if he gets another chance that is !

Daley might even follow Queenslands ploy of naming OUR team after Monday night , I would do it just to annoy them that bit more , lol.

Could be a great week for Tigers supporters if we beat the donkeys and NSW win . :deadhorse:

wait for it…. Willie Mason or Tim Mannah will get the nod!

I know you're probably joking Watto, but I'll bet my house that they'll choose Mason. That he's even being considered is a joke though, imo.

To be honest I thought Tamou was our least effective forward (and was surprised!).
Really hope that Woods gets a shot.

he's dropped. and 20k fine.

Woods MUST get a spot… wish he could play both tigers and origin. We'll need him

Although, luckily raiders don't have a monster pack.

Also, saw some pics/videos of training and Big Red was there? looked pretty fit, no sling or anything. Also the doc said he's making great progress. I think we could see him July if we're lucky. Pure speculation though.

Woods is a starter, he plays quality over longer minutes. Impact in shorter bursts is what Fifita is great at.

I say Woods should start. I know Origin is much more intense, but Woods has withstood everything in his career so far. Thats what I'd do.

In fact, I'd drop Reynolds, move Hoffman to the bench, Gallen to Lock, Lewis to 2nd row and Woods/Mannah to start.

Hoffman was ineffective going into the last quarter. He was tired and looked gone. Reduce his role to the last ~60min to avoid that happening.

Personally I never would have had him in the side for game I, but now he is there, might as well keep him for stability.
