James Tamou

So I’m looking at it as the club has opted not to let tamou go around again ? The fact they’re fighting his charge knowing pretty well he will loose it’s like it’s his last chance too finish his career playing and not on the sideline! Anyone else get that feeling or just me lol

Me too.

We should offer to give two points back to the NRL to compensate for the inconvenience and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to roll-over at the drop of a hat. Of course the NRL would not allow this because they are all about fairness, consistency and not setting inconvenient precedents 🤣

No way in the world the NRL change their decision on his punishment, they are very sensitive about their incompetence across the whole mismanagement of the competition.
No other sporting organisation needs a bloke to front the media every Monday to apologise/smother over the glaring errors made by his officials over and over and over again. It's just so laughable.....well not so much for the clubs who don't have the luxury of bias from the officials. For them it's costing them wins, fans and probably sponsors.

How can you be suspended for telling the truth?
Let's not forget Tamou was at the cowboys when they were knocked out of the finals on multiple occasions by incompetent officiating (Forans hand of God, Sharks scoring on the 7th tackle). His career has been plauged with incompetent officiating!!
I also sincerely believe that if Tamou had not given the ref a spray, when the broncs snapped Hastings leg, we would have been punished for a dropped ball and not even receiced a penalty!!! I'd keep Tamou on for another year for that act alone 😔

Yes, he was brought in for his leadership, not his diplomacy.

No.
I think theyre genuinely hoping for a d'grade so he plays his final game against the Raiders

I'd be absolutely dumbfounded if he retires.....
My gut tells me he's going back to the Panthers and they don't want to announce it yet...
Failing that, He goes around again with us.

I can't see him hanging them up...

Come on,referees are sacrosanct , always have been and always will.
If he gets a dispensation it will open a can of worms like the League has never seen.
I like him and feel really sorry for him and his family but he knows after 300 games what he did was not going to get him anywhere.
Minimum 2 weeks, then it’s up to us if he takes a spot next year or there is an up and comer we need to nurture.
He would have been better directing all his anger at his lazy teammates and tell them what a disgrace they were to the jersey.

I didn't know the ref's feelings were hurt by being called an "incompetent flog", that comment is lame compared to what the Cheese said... and Tamou was right they're incompetent flogs so why the need to be sent off? they can't handle the truth!!! lol
Short and sweet version

Anyone else think the challenging of the suspension is a PR stunt from the club?

I’m tipping this will backfire as well.
This is what Pascoe had to say on it via SEN:
Tamou will face the judiciary on Tuesday night to downgrade the charge, but Pascoe said no matter the decision the 33-year-old has been a wonderful servant to not just the Tigers but the NRL as well.

“James is an outstanding human and has been an outstanding leader of the club for quite some time," he said.

“He’s shown remorse and it’s out of character for what he did.

“I’m not going in confident but I’m certainly confident that we will give Jimmy the best opportunity to play another game at Leichhardt.”

If successful at the judiciary, Tamou will miss the round 24 game against St George and will have the potential of a fitting farewell at Leichhardt Oval against the Canberra Raiders on September 4.

It's just a shame referees are never held to account for their continued hopeless performances. If they were there'd be a good chance Cummins wouldn't even be around the game anymore. How many chances do they get?
