That is just terrible news…How about we start looking after our young players they are not adults.

Tedesco is very young and his desire to be successful has to be admired but It looks like he has pushed himself to hard to early. Don't the club monitor this stuff.

He seems very motivated but he possibly wasn't fully recovered and it looks like his return to training was accelerated with the start of pre season training. As a result his rehabilitation has now been set back by some time.

Someone needs to get a hold of him and tell him to ease up until his body is ready. Duty of care and all that stuff.

I think you need to take a deep breath…theres been nothing official on this that Ive seen
Just a post from an anonymous person on the net

Tedesco made a facebook status about it, there's nothing more official than that

Shoulda known….I wont get pedantic but what you say is incorrect

Shouldn't have said "there's nothing more official" but there is some truth to it. It's straight from his mouth

Mind if I ask exactly what was said?

I mean, some people are talkin as if hes out for the first third of the year

Im also a bit concerned a teenage rookie is on FB talkin to mug fans….we arent all always so kind as that Oz female swimmer in London found out.

Meniscus is not serious at all, will have zero effect it is prob as a serious as a cork thigh

When you tear it a few times and they remove the meniscus and you need to kneel down on a hard surface to get something from under a table or bench and you have bone on bone tell me it doesn't hurt to all buggery and the lock ups etc are just absolute hilarity at its best

To those who doubt what I said in relation to James's injury Its from a very reliable source and maybe you'd like to put some money where your mouth is ??

Agree…Mistake No.1 Mr. Potter.

Hard to believe his knee was fully recovered to go head first into preseason training.
They should have known he doesn't have a second gear and monitored him more closely.

It's bit more serious than a cork. It all depends on the severity of the tear… he may need a knee arthroscope.
Rehab can be anywhere from 6 - 12 weeks.

Happy is right, and speaking from experience, I can no longer squat after having a decent portion of my meniscus removed. It's bone on bone now and it hurts whenever I get into a squatting position, or if I'm stuck in the backseat of a car for a couple of hours, it just aches.

When I did my acl my surgeon said don't be surprised if you end up damaging your meniscus. I could be wrong but from my understanding its not unusual

Mistake No.1 Mr Potter, you are kidding aren't you, how could you blame Potter who has been with us for 2 weeks. Don't mention the Doctors, Physio's and rehab personnel, the kid himself must have thought all was good as well.

Extreemly common to damage meniscus when tearing yur ACL

At least the ACL is all good

I don't understand.

Is it a previous tear from when he did his ACL or is it a new tear ?

Depending what damage he did to the meniscus when he did his ACL it could be new or old damage.

If the tear is right near the edge of the meniscus they will try and stitch it sometimes this doesn't always heal correctly or can tear easily again.

Or it could be new tear, after my ACL injury I tore the Meniscus about 10months after the opp. The surgeon explained that it is pretty common to tear it after an ACL opp as the muscle around the knee can be weak.

Prob overstating to make a point.

No injuries are good, but as far as they go, a meniscus tear is not too bad.

Unfortunately Happy all ex footballers end up with far too many aches and pains when they are finished, sounds like you have dramas with your knees.

For me it is alot of scar tissue around my achilles, it locks up semi regularly and sees me fall flat on my face, the sympathy from those around me ended years ago, now when I hit the decks it usally gives everyone a bit of a laugh.
