I can see Roberts getting a run now that he's at the Broncos. It's hard to make a case for Dugan at centre in origin when it's been a failure at club level.

Dugan has played centre in Origin though and proved himself capable in that arena, so he could very well get chosen there again.

How did we go in those games? It may happen but he's clear A much better fullback

Dugan was fullback for all 3 games of the 2015 series

Based on Game 3 , you need to make changes Yoss and Farah for Ennis won't make a 46 point difference

52-6 , just rolls of the tongue , doesn't it

If Ted is selected i would like to see him at FB not on the wing.I think Dugan will get first shot at the back however. Morris and Jennings will most likely be the centres but Roberts and Ferguson will also come into contention which is a good problem to have, its just a pity our bunch of NSW halves are average in comparison to QLD choice.

Ignoring the gloating, it wasn't Dugan that was the problem it was the halves.

Mine would be

1\. Teddy
2\. Jennings
3\. Morris
4\. Dugan
5\. Mansour/Ferguson??

6\. Austin
7\. Reynolds (fitness)

If you were going to pick that backline you would be better off leaving Jennings in the centres where he normally plays and putting Dugan on the wing where he can get kick return metres and act as an extra forward. Dugan did not look good in the centres for the Dragons and even if he were playing on the wing he could still come infield looking to get more involved (like Semi has been doing recently).

This is what I would go with:

1\. Tedesco
2\. Mansour
3\. Jennings
4\. Roberts
5\. Ferguson
6\. Austin
7\. Reynolds

But will probably get something like this:

1\. Dugan
2\. Ferguson
3\. Morris
4\. Jennings
5\. Hopoate
6\. Reynolds
7\. Hodkingson

Depending on form over the next few weeks I wouldn't mind something like:

1\. James Tedesco
2\. Josh Dugan (I would put Brett Morris in if he were fit)
3\. Michael Jennings
4\. James Roberts
5\. Blake Ferguson (Dugan if Brett Morris were fit)
6\. Aiden Sezer
7\. Adam Reynolds

14\. Blake Austin (can come on at either hooker or in the halves)

1\. James Tedesco
2\. Josh Mansour
3\. Josh Dugan
4\. Michael Jennings
5\. Blake Ferguson
6\. Josh Reynolds
7\. Trent Hodkinson
8\. Aaron Woods
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Paul Gallen
11\. Beau Scott
12\. Ryan Hoffman
13\. Greg Bird

14\. Wade Graham
15\. Jake Trbojevic
16\. Ryan James
17\. David Klemmer

Austin and Mansour are made for origin. Still can't believe they didn't blood Mansour in the dead rubber in 2014 when they instead went with McManus. Mansour was killing it. Stupidity.

These type of decisions give me no confidence when it comes to picking Teddy over Dugan this season.

x2

The "powers that be" will most likely pick much the same side as the last couple of years. If they do, they will get the same result.

Gus Gould's " he is an Origin player" is a load of crap. Pick the team on form or get thrashed again.

NSW needs a complete overhaul. I'd drop 3/4 of the established guys…they are losers....and blood the new boys.

Mansour will likely be overlooked again. Consistently the best winger in the NRL. I'd rate only Radradra ahead of him and even that's only on form. Mansour churns out 200m games on a regular basis. He is good EVERY week. Agree with Tony33.

I genuinely think NSW have more good players coming through the ranks then QLD. Enough to maybe start our own dynasty over the next 5-10 years.

The difference is we have brain dead heirarchy who couldn't pick the best 17 if it their lives depended on it.

Tedesco
Moses
Woods
Cartwright
Cambell-Gillard
Moylan
Mansour
Peachey
Austin
Sezer
Vaughn
Klemmer
Morris
Morris
Roberts
Dugan
Frizzel
Aitken
Trobojevic
Trobojevic
Walker
Mitchell
Hastings
Ferguson
Cordner
Jennings

Thats enough quality to really dominate at the origin level, the challenge will be actually picking the right 17\. I have zero confidence in that regard.

Can't wait to watch Origin in 5 years then, because right now we are impressively short of options.

Who are the NSW halves even going to be? One of a multitude of proven failures, or taking a punt on young blokes with 50 games.

NSW selectors haven't got a clue, Bob Fulton is a legend of the game but is a dinosaur and needs to retire from the selection panel.

Teddy has to be the number 1, but you ask Joey I'm on crack Johns and he isn't in the top 25

If Tedesco is running amok against the Knights, I hope Gus or Sterlo have the guts to ask Joey why he wouldn't have him in his side. Seriously, Ted is almost as good as Inglis was in his prime. Strongest player in the game. Guys just fall off him. Impossible to stop close to the line.

Agreed
Nsw origin speculation amongst the media is all agenda driven. Talk up blokes you are chummy with etc over guys you don't really know or like ( especially if that bloke you are chummy with is struggling to hold his spot)

Apart from having a great group of players come through all at once, Queensland's secret is and always has been that they keep politics out of the selection process.
They pick the best 17 they have available every time!
Can't say the same for us ( blues) at any time in the history of origin I'm afraid.

Yep. He had Tom Trbojevic who happens to play for the side he's on the coaching staff of.
