OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

TPAs aren’t connected to a club. For example one of his current TPAs is with a car company in Penrith.
I get that clubs arnt supposed toget involved and its his agent job. What im expressing is this tpa is a tpa affiliated with his move to P.N.G and nothing to do with us. Tpas are used to top up player contracts outside of the cap. So your correct that P.NG didnt organise the tpa, though im assumong he wouldnt have the pepsi sponsorship if he refused to sign with P.N.G and remain a Tiger.

The thing im totally befuddled by is 100% Luai would have a 3rd party agreement in place with us. How can he fulfill his 3rd party obligatiins set up by P.N.G while he is still being paid by us with money contributed by 3rd party agreements while hes still playing for us. Im so confused by it all. Even though its Pepsi hes promoting, its an agreement arranged through his affiliation to the Chiefs. Whether the Cheifs are playing yet or not imo its a massive conflict of interest. People just through association will see Luai in a pepsi add and think cheifs. While he is still being paid by the Tigers.
Kayo
Cantebury
Some collector card spot
Some drink brand, cant remember the name

Hes all over advertising

This is my problem with it.
The Pepsi TPA is because he is playing for the Chiefs. So by the rules it's not a TPA and should be part of the salary cap

Moses and luai will go well together just dont think parramatta has the engine room up front to do too much.
Think they just miss the semis somewhere between 10th and 13th

It’s not a good look but as long as he isn’t spruiking a rival company to any of our sponsors he isn’t doing anything wrong

Thats the part I don’t get. He was cleared by the medical team to travel. But he hadn’t even had scans yet so. Unless he has been ruled out of next week any professional sportsperson would be rehabbing immediately and any professional club would be saying “injury assessment & rehab first your club for 2028 second” but I get it we obviously have zero balls in our management.
Benji has protected him from day one, and is still doing so. Not sure why, unless they are really close ?

Aren’t we also carrying the can for all these 3rd parties - as they’re not an official club yet, so we had to register them.
No we are not ,that is why we moved him on.PNG wanted us too with out offering any compensation for Luia flying in n out doing their promotions. Club decided it didn't pass the pub test and parra swooped

I don’t think you understood the question?

If Richo was still here I have no doubt he wldnt register them
Nothing to do with us
No doubt - he’s not though…
Pretty sure the word was, and they’re not officially in the comp yet - his 3rd parties were registered through WT’s or some such to that effect.

He was given permission to leave not long after.

Im saying strong management, which better clubs have, wld have brushed it
Apart from being a huge distraction, its his business, not ours
Paying him $1.2 mill this tear..lets focus on optimising that..

You’re right. There doesn’t seem to be a strong desire to get the best from people, but that’s to be expected when the gene pool is so small (20).

By the way, who floated the idea that Luai was really a 7 of exceptional talent, and never given a real opportunity to show the world due to living under Nathan’s shadow. Pure gold 🤣

I've seen Luai lead a Penrith squad to victories when Cleary was out for extended periods.
But when it comes to clubs and squads there is no comparison and Luai learned that the hard way
Still not sure that we as a fan base or a club have learned as we have in ground obsession with piling on individuals. That's why there are plenty not prepared to come near us.

Except for the bit where he needed the WT’s to submit his PNG 3rd party’s to the NRL (as they didn’t exist yet) and made it our business, right?
