Correct - that is not to say it is a common occurrence though...Cleary again. He left the Warriors with a year left on his contract to move to Penrith the first time.
Two common denominators in 50% of the four cases - being Cleary and Penrith!

Let it go mate, it's in the past, apparently you're meant to just forget when a coach who asks the team and fans to buy in goes on to [This word has been automatically removed] your club over.Bullshit!!
Name another NRL head coach who has broken his contract because another club poached him mid-contract??
The only ones I can recall are Hasler to Bulldogs and Seibold to Broncos!!
Stuart - Eels to the Raiders.Bullshit!!

Parra were happy to see him go - but again a rare case and not a common practice!Stuart - Eels to the Raiders.
Just about every head coach had broken contract (when they were an assitant) because another club poached them (to be their head coach)Bullshit!!

Most assistants have a clause in their contract allowing them to take on a head coach role if one becomes available - chalk and cheese from inducing a head coach to break a long term contract.Just about every head coach had broken contract (when they were an assitant) because another club poached them (to be their head coach)
i think the only reason leaving head coach position for another head coach position doesn't happen much is because rarely is it ever an option.
How many clubs are seeking to hire a coach from a poor performing team? Or why would a coach want to leave a good team for a poor one?
Here is one West Tiger Supporter who will never forget, this peice of S--T did it to Warriors then again to us.View attachment 9302
Lest we forget!
Then his best mate was shocked that he did it again. 🤣Cleary again. He left the Warriors with a year left on his contract to move to Penrith the first time.
That's when he should've been tapped. Then his best mate was shocked that he did it again. 🤣
I agree it's not the same but I think it does show that most coaches (like mostly everyone else) will do what is best for themselves in any given scenario. Most assistants have a clause in their contract allowing them to take on a head coach role if one becomes available - chalk and cheese from inducing a head coach to break a long term contract.
This is about how it impacts on Luai. We have no responsibility to keep Penrith happy but Luai does. We did him no favours by posting this . It was a dumb move.In just about every sport anywhere in the world when a big player signing occurs, part of the new club's following pr exercise is to show the new player in his or her new playing strip. Given Luai will still be at the Riff for another full season i kind of get their being a little annoyed at the photoshopped image of Jahrome in a Tigers shirt but the image was quickly "vanillarised" to soothe their hurt feelings so that should end the matter.
Racist! Just kiddingWest's Tigers welcome Jarome Luai to the club.

John Morris will be the tactician. I'm okay with that. The jury on Marshall as a tactician is still out, but as far as a man manager is concerned, he looks like a 10/10. Not only a charismatic player, but a charismatic personality.
Did you have to mention '89?Yeah it was five years ago. 2010/11 still hurts, Tedesco leaving still upsets WT fans, so does '89 if you're a Balmain fan. Wests fans remember Manly pillaging in the 70's. Maybe they should all let it go too? Leagues a tribal game and things like this are not easily forgotten.
And yeah, it was only a Photoshopped image. Honestly, they're coming off three consecutive grand final wins and they are singing the blues about a photo, get a grip...
If anything, the club didn't go far enough, they should have Photoshopped Luai's head on Johnny Sins, complete with WT jersey, while he was chockablock up someone and then superimposed Ivan's head on the receiving party.
Who at the Panthers put the gun to his head forcing him to leave? He is, not Penrith IMO.
Same sameHe is, not Penrith IMO.
