OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

I really think Terrell May is going to be the signing of the year.

JL will play his part, but TM will bring the pack with him this year.
Yep agree , he has been stung by the rooster and will most likely spur him on , good for us , god help roosters when we play them first up. , Tigers by 20 in that game , May is a huge plus for us and the people who have joined all give our opposition plenty to watch , we didn’t have a class player like Luai we didn’t have power like May has , we didn’t have destructive power off the bench like Hunt , experience like Bird ,

How dare he take leave that he is entitled to
Indeed. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that he also doesn't have a registered contract yet, so couldn't train with the team even if he wanted to. The signing announcement suggested a playing contract would be signed in due course. I'm assuming everybody's favourite player, John Bateman, is holding things up.

Well you will have an absolute ball next year then mate, especially with one or two outspoken ones on here, I look forward to reading it all, I may join in and help you out too
No idea what you are talking about. I’m already on record saying we’ll improve

Except Benji played Galvin on the left last year. Shocking coaching with zero forward thinking. Galvin now starts 2025 from scratch as a right side player after years of predominantly left when he could have had the 2nd half of the year on the right and taken some learnings into the preseason.
Galvin himself has said in interviews that he would be playing on the right this season, so it has not come as any surprise to me.

Thought that towards the end of last season Galvin was starting to wander over to the right side and do a bit of playing over there, all be it for only limited minutes.

For what it's worth, I think luai has earned the right and as our marquee player is entitled to play on his favoured side.

Hopefully things work out for the best and I won't make any further comments on Benji's forward planning.

I agree, and wanted to add a few points.

1 - Luai is a left foot kicker & Galvin right foot kicker, more effective when the kickers on their favoured side of ruck.

2 - Galvin is developing. If he's going to become a complete footballer & the best there has ever been as some want to suggest, he needs to learn to be effective on the right.

3 - I think you'll find we'll play our halves on both sides of the ruck given their capabilities, Benji or Galvin alluded to it I recall.

If playing Galvin predominantly right side becomes a negative media story in '25 ... FMD!

You tossed all your toys out of the cot when the Luai clause story broke, you made some ridiculous statements, you took on half the forum
Or did half the forum take on me? And what do my thoughts on the clause have to do with how I think we go in 25?

Also mate, if you are gonna call someone out, be brave enough to do it by name. Don’t talk in vagaries
I am 100% brave enough to call you or anyone else out,, I am as brave as you are stupid, I was being nice, it was you, GNR, aka Gunner, is that clear enough for you mate

After the fact. Again though, I’m not actually sure what you are calling out. What receipts are you going to be showing? Genuinely curious

Edit: After better judgement, I deleted the post you replied to here. Regardless, I have no idea what your issue is.

Yep. They were training from left 2 right in the drills
I watched too. A lot is riding on Galvin sticking not
exclusively but mostly to his side of the ruck (see
my post in the other thread). Galvin was running
backline moves on his weak hand (left to right pass) —
that's all they were doing. Player gets hit/held, then
do it again & again, and then give the ball 2 the opposing
team (after 6-10 plays), then defend the right hand
side exclusively. I was only there for a short time
though as I mentioned, small sample size of training.
