I think last night was more having a game manager in Madden, which more than likely suits both AD and Jerome

We were better than scouffs as well, but still no points!
Madden played well, a bit soft in defence. But earned his spot for next week, played a great game at 7, Doubie played 6.
But it’s one game, let’s not get carried away!

Latu must be extremely frustrated, injuries cruel him and now in comes Madden and plays a great game.
I still have a lot of time for Latu but he just needs to string a few games together without getting injured for me
Agreed, hope it’s just an age thing and once he gets his bones settled, he’ll come good. A bit like Scott Prince did, had heaps of injuries prior to joining us!

Works perfectly for Latu, he can come in without the pressure he would have had if Jock was not on board. I have high hopes for Latu and the current set up allows him to come in when required and work on his timing on both sides of the ball. I don't doubt for a second that he is our long term 7. He was already showing some solid passing, running and defending in the limited minutes he played on Friday.

Latu could become a Victor Radley type player coming off the bench to play lock for 30-40 minutes. He is fearless and hits hard. Not sure he can get much bigger but it's an option moving forward for the next 2 years or so.

Hes better than that..and not big enuff..and we need to give him every opportunity in an injury free run to demonstrate that
I think he will..has had no real footy in 2 years
How many breaks did madden make , he missed to tackles that gave NZ team tries , AD made the breaks on his own bat , AD when he puts the ball high and with spin is really hard to catch , madden good with kicks but no better than AD

100% we do, he is driving the change in culture and plays a pivotal role in the attacking structure (read the Deep Dive to understand how). Jock and 7 and AD at 6 worked well - but Luai has the ability to make points happen - we will need the deper we get into the season.

AD was able to make breaks mainly because he was provided with the time and space to use his skills (by Madden). AD does have a good kick at times - but he lacks control - Madden find the grass - there is no real comparison in the kicking department - one has a big boot and poor control the other kicks well in general play and has a reasonable long kick.

Don’t agree, Madden straightened the line then passed to Doubie allowing for a one on one. That allowed Doubie all the room needed. Doubie’s kicking game is average at best, if he used his torpedo kick more often, then yes, but he doesn’t. Madden kicked perfectly for Tino to contest the ball leading to tries. Also Madden’s kicking game finds the grass, so something we haven’t had in a long long time! Don’t get what your saying, are u taking the piss??

I'm sure Benji is giving him heaps of encouragement to be patient and that his time will come and that his body will get stronger and more resilient.
Benji would only know too well what must be going through Latu's head.

He has a similar slow/fast at the line like Cleary and Katoa....the sudden acceleration that really sucks. In the defence....and his straightening the attack is creating time and space wider
