Jock was halfback against Parra and we scored the same amount of tries. I don't think our attack is an issue. Brisbane defended well. Simple as that. So did Parra for that matter. We are on the radar - teams will turn up with a plan to knock us off.
4 critical errors- 2 dropped balls under no pressure and being bundled into touch. Not being aware of the kick to Mariner. Sorry, but we've put an 18 year old kid straight into firsts and he has cost us points in every game - it was just a matter of time before those errors cost us a game.
He will be ruthlessly targeted from now on if he wasn't already.
People are saying leave him in to protect his confidence, but I think the opposite is true. He needs more foundation in reserves to build back up. Take the pressure off him now.
Those mistakes are from fatigue and the lack of concentration that come with that. We talk about development, but he hasn't really had any. You can see it from a mile away, he's exhausted physically and mentally. There's nothing left in the tank. I don't think it's fair on him to put his feet to the fire the way we have.
He'll get there, but he's not good enough yet. Luke Laulili took 2-3 years (and multiple costly errors in firsts) before he was ready to be picked every week on his merits rather than potential.
Mak needs to go back to reserves and work on his shortcomings like all players have to. We shouldn't be training him in the big time.
