It’s much better for us if a large 5 year contract starts from 2024, rather than 2025 with the age factor coming into play.

But that is why it went from 4 years originally and now has changed last minute to a 5 year deal .. to now encompass the 2024 season 😉

If he wants to come early.. does that mean the original 5 Yr deal is now null and void and a new 6 Yr contract has to be drawn up and we're back to square one.. ?? Would that mean every club is back in the hunt.. and another 10 day cooling off period..??

Would remain as 5 years (inclusive of this one) and if I’m the Panthers CEO I’m growing a set and forcing Ivan to utilise the enormous talent Simpkin has and reuniting him with Garner/Eisenhuth for added chemistry in a swap.

I think what I’m saying is people say lots of things. Everyone is scared to death of anything negative atm, so the moment they see a negative comment, they latch onto it and use that as an excuse to turn to water. Gotta stay solid.

Not sure if he came next year we would be that much better off as he is coming off shoulder surgery and not much of a preseason with our team to gel. That said if he gets released in the next week it may help.
I would take him next year also if the 5 years starts in 24 .

Galvin probably wont be ready to start 25.Plus we need experience somewhere at 6 or 7.
Contingency is we see how Sezer goes in 24 and maybe extend him ..and we have Bud/Latu and possibly Douhi on our books
Having said all that,which is worst case scenario,Im so glad we have Richo doing the negotiating for WTs rather than his predecessors.I trust his judgement

No just means the 5 years starts in 2024 .. It was always 4.... but only changed to 5 to add the 2024 season in.
